Where:. Where: U.S. 285 west to Jefferson, then north approximately eight miles on County Road 79.

Highlights: Fewer-than-normal numbers of rainbows are being stocked, but the carryover from previous years has improved. For something bigger, try for 20-pound lake trout, which wildlife officials report to be thriving.

Tips: Standard spinners, spoons and scented baits should catch rainbows from shore or boat. Lake trout tactics require large spoons and crankbaits trolled at 70 feet. After ice-out, lake trout cruise shorelines and are vulnerable to shallow-running lures.
