Time well spent.
Once in a while something comes along that is well worth the time and effort... visiting the Refuge is one of those things. What made the visit special was the staff... they made observing nature enjoyable.

Twenty-seven square miles of open space just 10 miles northeast of downtown Denver, the refuge is home to 300 wildlife species..
In Short
The 17,000-acre arsenal offers more than three miles of trails, wildlife watching and a visitors center, whose gift shop sells wildlife-related objects such as books, gifts and T-shirts. A large population of mule deer, coyotes, prairie dogs and badgers makes up the core of the wildlife population. The area also provides a temporary home to many hawks, white pelicans and other birds during migration season. About two dozen bald eagles winter here.
