Finest of the Dive Bars. I mentioned I looooove love love diver bars....well I love me a cold PBR at Don's. This is the ultimate Dive Bar in D-town. Don's can be very quiet and "relaxing" allowing you to go to your happy place, or it can be an absolute party that will take you to your happy place whether you like it or not. Bartenders were super nice and didn't make us wait. Great crowd and setting, do it.
Serious Dive Bar that feels GREAT!. I am living here in the capital hill area of Denver for the next 2 months and it was suggested to be by another friend from Dallas to check it out! I must say It's always a Great Time!
This Sixth Avenue dive features friendly service, easy conversation and a single, well-used pool table..
The Scene
If you blink, you'll miss this nondescript bar on Sixth and Washington. On weeknights and Sundays, you can usually find a spot at the bar and time with the pool table, but weekends can be packed. Booths in the back allow private conversation or lonely drinking. The bar is lively with conversation, as are the booths in the front, and the bartender commiserates with regulars and newcomers alike.
The Crowd
It's a mixed bag, free of the meat-market feel. People come here for serious drinking, intelligent (slightly slurred) conversation and relaxation. You'd almost think it a university pub, minus the rowdy crowd.
Munchies
Every bar has got them, but it's definitely not the specialty here. If you do get a craving, personal Tombstone pizzas are surprisingly delicious.
Not too shabby.
Yes, the pool table is always full, wish they had more.
The bartenders are fast, and the crowd is hard to describe, it changes on the fly within 30 minutes.
Guess that's what happens in that part of town.
By far the best jukebox anywhere.
And a cool shuffleboard table.
The bathroom is less than desireable.
Curtis C begins here. Don, You are among the greatest. I hope you never, ever change.
