Greatest massage keeps me returning time and time again. I've been going to the Brown spa for several years now. My wife and I usually come for special occasions, and always get pampered as expected.

But luckily, I had the experience of receiving a massage from Vanessa for the first time. It was so relaxing, and actually worked out my back pain. It was the first time I have received massage and felt the benefits the next day (although I was a bit sore that evening, as to be expected).

I will definitely be back to this lovely historic hotel, and their soothing spa.

THE WORST MASSAGE BY VENESSA!. The spa is beautiful, but for THESE prices I expected to get massage by a real professional.

My massage therapist VENESSA was very unexperienced, she was probably right out of school. I asked for deep tissue massage but it seems like she didn't even know what it means. She did not work on any of my problem areas that I showed her, and she was rude when I mentioned it to her. She talked too much and I could not even relax...

The privious member is right - hire real professionals. I had better massages by students at Massage school. I don't know about the other technicians but deffenetly stay away from Venessa!

Fine dining and excellent service in a wonderful environment. There is no place like the Brown Palace. Their afternoon tea service is on par with the best in Britain. The historic decor throughout the Brown Palace provides a wonderful feast for the eyes. Both comfortable and refined, there is nothing like the Brown Palace. The Ship Tavern burgers are a special treat, but try not to drip the juices all over your clothes.

Awful Massage. I went to this spa over a year ago and I told the front desk person at the spa that I could barely talk because of laryngitis and she assured me the therapist wouldn't talk. I was so disappointed when all she did was talk and try to make me talk. All I wanted to do was relax with no talking and that didn't happen. I was almost in tears so by the time it was over I couldn't wait to get home I was very sad and dissappointed beyond belief. And most definitely not relaxed.I love the Brown for it's high teas etc.. but never again will I use thier spa services as it was beyond awful.

Loved it. Me and my wife needed a night out on the town and decided to stay a night at the Brown Palace. It was eveything we had hoped for. Great service, clean rooms and complete pampering. It was just what we needed. It is a bit pricy but it was worth it for the experience. -David

Agreed - this place is horrible for New Years. I agree with a previous review for this hotel. This place is definitely not recommended for New Years. We had 3 friends come in from out of town and we wanted to take them around to enjoy Denver. First issue is when we booked the hotel they said there is plenty of parking. This is the main reason we chose this hotel. We checked in at 4:00pm and then took our friends around town for awhile. Came back at 8:00pm and they tell us the parking is full. Full? They had quite a few rooms open that night. Second, we had asked for accommodations for 5 people and they said that should be no problem. All we expected was two beds and perhaps a cot. After checkin, they tell us there is nothing they can do for us for accommodations. I'm sorry, but we are not filthy rich and able to drop over $1000 on two rooms for one night. Then, at 1:00am in the morning, they knock on the door and bring in a cot. And this could not have been done earlier? Never again, never again.

A wonderful nights stay with superb and attentive staff!!. This hotel was a wonderful nights stay. The staff was consistantly attentive and friendly. I felt like I a Queen! The hotel spa was a relaxing retreat. And, again the staff was attentive and friendly. The common areas were always checked and kept in clean tidy order. We had dinner in the Tavern, again - perfection!

On Sunday morning they serve a fabulous champagne brunch in Ellington's. It was fit for a King. In closing I would recommend experiencing any portion of what this hotel has to offer - you will not be disappointed. Whether it be just a mani-cure / pedi cure to a full night stay with dinner and breakfast.

Lovely atmosphere. I loved the spa and the rooms, especially the steam showers...Wow! I love this hotel and the food in Ellyington's. My only complaint was that my massage was a little lacking and my facial was simply not worth it. I had a male provider for my massage and he was light handed (I specified deep tissue). While he was professional I didnt walk away with that OMG feeling that I usually come away from a spa with, I am assuming he is new to the spa profession which says something. My facial was regretful. I am an avid spa participant and I am a preferred client at Canyon Ranch...they have a long way to go with the staff (hire professionals with experiece!) The steam shower was delicous and the ambiance was nice.

Absolutely the best in Denver.. I've been to about 5 different spas in Denver and none of them compare to The Brown. At other spas, I've had lackluster massages by newbie massage therpists and pedicures in uncomfortable, tight spaces. They were okay, but nothing really luxurious. At the Brown I've had 5 great massages already. Darcy is my favorite. I've had one very good pedicure. The atmosphere is just so relaxing. It is VERY expensive. But in my mind totally worth it. Its a splurge.
