Wendy Woo Editorial Review
The Skinny
Woo crafts tunes heavy on danceability, rhythm and a jazzy nightclub feel. Her voice is a delicate instrument that trades fireworks and flash for subtlety, mood and song interpretation. She and her band's tunes run from light funk to Louisiana grooves and Caribbean vibes. Woo's current platter, "Wide Awake and Dreaming," was recorded and produced at Sky Trail Studios, in Boulder. The disc's 11 tunes call to mind the club soul of Sade and the second-line juju of the Neville Brothers, with a dash of mountain-blend wriggle music thrown in for extra texture.

Woo is amazing. One of the best live performers I have seen anywhere. Very soulful, in both musically and personally. I never hestitate to recommend her shows to my friends because I know they won't be disappointed.
