Old school flavor. Nice old school hardwood pub. John’s a great man behind the bar. My favorite is the thai wrap, but all of the food is good.
Only neighborhood place in the Highlands.
I think everyone in Denver has been here! If find it a relief from some of the "uppityness" that some of the Highlands places suffer from. I just don't think location means you have to be that way. Three Dogs is a beautiful bar. It definitely has that neighborhood feel, I can't think of another place on 32nd that does.
The drink prices are decent and the pours are good. The bartenders are capable, and even though they are usually busting butt they always hit you with eye contact and a smile! I don't live far, but if I could walk home from there I would be there more often.
Oh ya - The smoked wings rock, I always get some to go.
Three Dogs customer service sux 3 big dog ballz. I have been here several times and the place would be great if you could get a beer in less than 10 minutes of finishing your drink! I could understand had the place been packed but it wasn't. What a shame, the place has a lot of potential but maybe they should not allow their bartenders to get hammered behind the bar... just a thought.
Great Chips!!. I'm surprised that these other reviews rated the food so bad but look at the dates. They must have changed cooks or something because I thought the food was great, yeah the service was a bit poor but overall I would recommend this place for hanging out.
nice atmosphere. I came here late on a Saturday night with about six people. It wasn't a game night, so we were able to get a booth pretty easily. I've also been here when it's jam packed and you can barely walk through the place. Service wasn't great or bad--probably about average for a bar. Our table closed out its tab at one point, but then we changed our minds and decided to stay for at least one more beer, but the server never came back to our table in spite of the fact that we were still sitting there more than half an hour later. Granted, we did close our tab, but you'd think they'd come by after half an hour to see if we needed anything else.
Bad Service unfortunately.. Very very very bad service. I have been to 3dog a lot and I am sick of there poor service and bad food. Ok for game day but don't eat there. If you are hard up for a place to eat and drink this is the place for you.
Spot Bar and Grill's little brother serves the same amazing burgers to a brand-new neighborhood..
In Short
Hundreds of pictures of dogs line the walls; most of the canines are doing tricks. A popular Highland hangout, the place is packed on game nights (showing on the big screen). The burgers here are juicy without too much grease. Fries are included and are tasty enough to order more on the side. Hot dogs come plain or with chili and sauerkraut. The tuna sandwich and fish-and-chips are other good choices.
Agree...eat before come!. This is a great neighborhood bar and one of the biggest in the Highlands, but the food is not good and the service is kind of wacky at times. If you can put up with spotty service from interesting (but cool) people and pretty bad food, it is a fun place to chill out, play pool, watch a game and drink some beer. For a similar low-key atmosphere with GREAT food try Sloan's Bar and Grill (in Edgewater)!
The food is good. Three Dogs is one of my favorites for many reasons. I get a kick out of all the dog pictures. It's a comfortable atmosphere, good people, the service is usually attentive. I've eaten there many times and the food has always been very good. It's just a all-around great place to hang out.
Good neighborhood joint, but eat first.. I live in the neighborhood, and I go to Three Dogs pretty regularly. It's a great bar--a good place to watch the game and have a drink, but the food is pretty awful. The fries (as one reviewer suggested) are good, but I don't often make a meal of fries. Go for a snack, if you're in the mood, but I would steer clear of their more ambitious entrees.
