Extremely poor service.
Normally, I have a blast at this venue. The atmosphere is relaxed and, not to be redundant, but "funky". Unfortunately, one of the bartenders provided terrible service my last visit. This is
obviously not just my own experience as several other reviewers have complained about even worse service than I had!
With cash tip in hand, I waited at the bar for 15 minutes to get a tonic water for the DJ. When I leaned over and finally asked the bartender directly, she screamed to stop yelling at her and then refused to serve me tonic. It's unfortunate that A) the drink was for the DJ who is the reason the bar was packed and B) that she didn't consider the possibility that I might be a designated driver. Tons of other bars in Denver have served me happily knowing I was the sober driver for the night.
I understand that these servers depend on tips which is why I had cash out for her, even though water is free. Several people saw this occur and I can guarantee people either got out of line for the night or went to the bar downstairs. By treating customers badly,at the end of the night, bartenders only hurt their own pocketbook. Hopefully, she'll reconsider this next time a customer requests any drink with cash in hand.…
Funky Buddha a Great place BUT AVOID 789 Sherman Parking.
Funky Buddha is a great place to have a drink or two and enjoy a fun relaxed atmosphere. But whatever you do, DON'T PARK IN THE 789 Sherman parking lot. I paid the $5 to park, and they ticketed me
anyway (for $40!) despite my polite requests that they made a mistake.
Funky Buddha gets 4 stars, but I have to give the review a negative rating because of the fraudulent parking ticket given me by 789 Sherman Parking. BOGUS!
If you can't park on the street, move on. They'll get you too!…
The Funky Buddha 2010.
***FIRST***The last time I was at the Funky Buddha was about 2 years ago and it was not cool. The "GM" was drunk and was harassing all the females, the music was way too ghetto, and the cocktail had
an attitude. ****HOWEVER****
I recently stopped by and the Funky Buddha has changed drastically! The new GM is so cute, humble, and warm/fuzzy. I think his name was Brad or Brandon or something. The service was great, the venue itself looks sooooo different. The music is better than downtown and the drinks are cheap. I definitely recommend giving this place another glance. The cons are: the place is obviously under renovation. No bathroom downstairs was kind of inconvenient, but other than that FABULOUS.…
good dancing. It sucks for the people who got over charged but I didn't experience anything like that when I came here. Was here with a buncha friends for anti valentines day, we are all recently single, and had a blast!! the pearfection martini was our drink of choice for the night and it ended up getting a little crazy. before we knew it, all 6 of us were on the dance floor breaking it down. what a fun night…
