In Short
With all its Irish authenticity, the Celtic Tavern might as well be smack dab in the middle of Belfast. This place is relaxing and friendly, and the staff knows the difference between single- and double-malt scotch. People come here for power lunches or to retire in the leather couches for conversation. There's no Guinness here, but the extensive collection of scotches and other ales more than makes up for the lack of the black brew.

I have been going to The Celtic ever since it first opened around 8-9 years ago. It may not be fully "authentic Irish", but it is certainly more so than "Faux-do" (Fado) near Coors Field. They have a great selection of beers, the ambience is very casual, and (if you happen to smoke), it's just about the only game in town (unless you want to fork over wads of cash to watch strippers at The Diamond Cabaret, or hang out at the rather stuffy Churchill Bar at the Brown Palace). There is also (usually) a live band playing on Saturday nights. If you'd rather not deal with the smoke, you can just wander next door to their sister pub, Delaney's (where they have live music on Fridays). Slainte!

One of many many bars downtown, and one of my favorite. It is very big, and so can hold a ton of people. It is spread out into different areas/rooms, which I like, so people aren't packed into one area. Good selection of beers, especially on tap...and by good I mean beers with some substance. :)

Ate here for lunch. We had heard/read mixed reviews. I really enjoyed the interior. Very big, and spacious (well without a whole crowd of people). Lots of dark wood that made it feel cozy. The wait staff was very friendly and happy to see us. I had the eggplant parm sandwhich, Oh my lord! Really really tasty! Hubby went with the Burger topped with Pepper Jack and Bacon. He really enjoyed it as well! We would definitely come back during the evening (gotta try their cider) and again for lunch!
