In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.

BEST Theatre Ever!. this is my first review! I love going to the movies but hate dirty, musty and generally creapy movie theatres. AMC FlatIrons crossing theatres are wonderful. The ticket line moves quickly or you can buy your tickets from the automated machines. The food lines are very quick except for peak hours, but this is standard for any movie theatre. The bathrooms are big and clean, not a very long line to get in for the ladies! I ONLY watch movies at this theatre even though it is a bit of a drive from my home. I never had a problem with the sound of the movie, actually I think they are a bit loud, but sometimes need to close the door to the theatre to keep the hallway noise out! I also love the stadium seating, so my children and myself don't have to sit sideways to see the movie! I highly recommend this theatre!

This place Stinks. This place stinks. The projection staff at the theater are the worst. The volume of the films is sooooooo quiet you can hear the guy behind eating popcorn better than the movie. They have no idea how to frame a movie and the staff is just plain rude. Do yourself a favor rent the DVD.

This theater is terrible. This theater is terrible. The volume level of the movies is way too quiet. The projection staff is incompetent at best as I have never seen a movie here that has been focused and framed properly. Skip this nightmare of a multiplex.
