My experience. Last St. Patricks Day my wife and I went to the 404. We ordered the 404 St. Pats Special. I didn't expect a lot for the amount paid. Having said that...This is what we got on our plates. Two strips each of fat, a few tired looking pieces of cabbage and several tiny, boiled potatoes out of a can. We had ordered a pint of beer, so after we finished drinking those, we left. We didn't touch the disgusting meal. We were lucky to find another place on such a busy night, which actually served a wonderful Corned Beef and Cabbage and were able to salvaged the evening. One reviewer on here stated that if you don't like the 404 you belong in the suburbs. There is never an excuse to serve garbage and advertise it as FOOD! City or elsewhere.…

Paid $30 to figure out that I will never be back..
WIth this review, keep in mind my husband and I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions over the course of several years. While the decor is quite grungy the food had always kept us going
back.
I don't know if it was a because of the holiday weekend, but they had a limited menu of 6 entrees and 2 appetizers.
I had the NY strip with mash and gravy and my husband had a reuben with fries.
The meal started off with the usual skimpy salad with old lettuce and it proceeded to get worse from there. The waitress came to inform us that although the reuben was one of the six items on the menu, they did not have swiss cheese. He was presented with other cheese options none of which appeared on the actual sandwhich. The corned beef appeared to be from several days earlier, cut far to thick, tough, fatty and chewy. Nothing good to be said.
The steak was actually cooked to order, however, it had no seasoning and steak sauce was needed. The mashed potatoes were of the instant variety holding a consistency one step above the disgusting gravy that was applied to it (UNEDIBLE).
Although our food experience was way below par, Nonni (the waitress) was her usual great self.
With all that said, we will never return to the 404 for anything more than drinks.…
best bar and staff.secrettastebuds should apoligize. great staff! amazing jukebox, good food, and better people! true denver bar with actual personality. if you don't like this bar you belong in the suburbs
A Favorite Place. First, Nonni, the best waitress in the world. Second, in 15 years of getting the Saturday steak special, I've only had maybe 3 tough ones. Some of the things that people don't like about this place are what makes it a joy to the rest of us. It's one of a kind. NOT dirty and smelly as some apparently "too good" people have said. It used to be smelly before the smoking ban, the same as every other smokey bar. The diversity of customers all happily coming together makes it special.…
