Editorial Review for Eldorado Canyon State Park – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The park has two sections: the Inner Canyon, with its eastern entrance at Eldorado Springs (Colorado Highway 170), and Crescent Meadows, a couple of miles to the west and accessible from Crescent Village on Highway 72. The park is habitat for black bears, mountain lions, rattlesnakes. Minimize risk by staying on designated trails and by parking in marked lots. Also, beware of falling rock along trails, climbing routes and vehicle access roads.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasSeveral climbing school and guide services operate in the park; information is available at the visitor center. Bolts, pitons, etc. are not maintained by the park; climbers use these anchors at their own risk. Climbs may be closed during raptor nesting.
Know Before You GoThe park's single-lane paved road is multi-use; uphill traffic has right of way. Large vehicles must park near the east entrance. Due to rock-fall danger, no parking is permitted between the lower main lot and the West Ridge rock formation.
