Sheridan >Red & Jerry's
Amazing Event center : Our bike club used to go to a place in the tech center until the manager told us we could not come in anymore. We would show up every week and spend real money. We tried RNJ because we heard it was a big place. Well it is big, big enough for all of us. 50-60 guys and a whole lot of drinking. :) We can even hold our monthly meetings here now as well in the event center. Can't beat that..
Awesome party venue!!!. I loved having my wedding reception there. The staff was great and took care of all my guest like they were family!! The room was decorated exactly as I asked and the food was wonderful!!! I loved the whole thing and did not have to worry about a single thing!!!! Great job Red and Jerrys!! Thank you for a great day!!
Don't hold an event there, or you'll be sorry.
Pros: Large, and right off Santa Fe.
Cons: Everything else
I booked an event at R&J, with about a month's lead time. I spoke with the manager, who promised drink specials and appetizers for our group. I confirmed again a week before the event, and was told, no problem, we'll be ready for you.
The night of the event, with 80-100 people in attendance, R&J didn't have any wait staff for our group. There wasn't anyone assigned to the room we were in, so people went to the bar to order, and were rudely told to order from the wait staff. One wait person made rare appearances in the room, and took forever to return with beverages, stating he was the only one on duty, and had to cover the entire floor. He said he was an assistant manager, and no one told him we were coming.
Needless to say, there were no drink specials for our group, and I had to pay full price for the appetizers I purchased out of my own pocket. He didn't even give us a discount, considering it was their mistake.
After spending well over $100 on appetizers, the staff brought out some "complimentary" chips and salsa.
As it ended up, we had an okay event, despite the poor service. R&J could have made a bunch of money off drinks, and from the people who stayed after the event and had dinner. Instead, they treated us like we were unwelcome, and made more than they deserved.
Ours wasn't an isolated incident. I've spoken to a member of a group that set up a weekly reservation to meet there. In the entire time they met, at exactly the same time every week, R&J never got their act together. They set up the room late, served food late, and treated them about as well as they treated our group. After about 2 months of putting up with all the problems, they moved their weekly meeting to another venue.
If you're going there to drink and have plenty of time to kill, it might be worthwhile. But, if you are planning a group meeting or large event, and you want it to come off well, go somewhere else.
wasnt perfect. This place wasn't as all as good as it was said to be. the food was o.k. but the staff and the arcade were not pleasant. More than half the games didnt work. The food was decent and this place is good for a large party.
Go Ahead! Waste your Money!.
Red and Jerry's used to be my hometown arcade, being a native of Englewood. I came to red's for years to participate in their Dance Dance Revolution tournaments, and play their amazing arcade. But somewhere along the line, they decided to let the arcade fall into disrepair. I went last night, and half of the machines ate my money! Sure family friendly! They have also removed more than 3 quarters of their games, and completely done away with Dance Dance. They have completely alienated a crowd of nerdy kids that like to play that game. I would not recommend bringing your family here, unless you want to have your kids cry, and get lost in a 500 person quinceneta.
Plays all NFL Games
Off track betting is cool
Arcade eats your money
Scarce amount of games
Employees rude and unhelpful on phone
Does not cater to Dance Dance maniacs
Bartenders are rude and impatient, but rarely busy
Tiny amount of prizes for arcade
Machines don't give out tickets, even when you win
Always filled with Englewood gangsters and hoodlums
Your children will cry, and you will regret even making the drive
Great Arcade, Ok everything else.. I've been going here for years just to use the Dance Dance Revolution machine in their arcade. It's the best maintained machine in all of Colorado, and it's pretty fun to have lots of people watch you in amazement. I've ordered food there a few times, and it's usually been ok, but nothing amazing. They're pretty nice about filling my pitcher of water over and over for the number of hours I am there though.
Off track rules!. The service at Red and Jerry's is notoriously slow, but where else can you do any off track betting in Denver with your own monitor on your table? The other part of the place is a great place for the kids with video games and a huge area like Dave and Busters, so it can be a good family place as well. As far as location, that's where I have a problem, but I live up north.
