Overrated and Expensive. Being from Texas, my husband and I eat steak a lot. This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. I was very disappointed in the steak. Like another reviewer said, they was no flavoring or seasoning. It was as if they threw a steak on and charred it. We both had bone-in ribeye ($33). I thought mine was too charred, my husband liked his, but he eats his medium rare. Mashed potatoes were nothing special and the broccoli was just steamed...nothing special. The one good item was the creamed corn. Even the s-berry shortcake was just okay. The restaurant is beautiful though.
Brothers Night Out. My brother and I dined here two Sundays ago and had the VERY well valued 16oz Prime Rib Dinner with a crab cake appetizer. Items perfect in every way..especially when washed down with Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Service OUTSTANDING. Chef even gave us side of creamed "corn off the cob". Mmmmmmm. Also visited by the Rest. Manager twice at our table for conversation. Our party continued in the Cigar Cellar where the Bartender did attend to our every need. We had a wonderful cognac each sporting a very generous snifter pour accompanied by our own DM cigars. We were very delighted with the "hug you" feeling of the chairs...simply no better quality. After 4 hours in the establishment it was time to go. Paid bill and remembered that we had wanted cheesecake. Manager comped those and we departed...fantastically satiated. Alreading in process of organizing another function..with more buddies.
Ok. I wasn't that impressed with this restaurant. I was excited to go here after all the reviews I read. The food was ok. Nothing amazing by any means. The steaks were tender, but lacked flavor. This place is very expensive. I was almost shocked to see how much one steak costs, since everything else is a la carte. I've had better in Denver and most likely won't be back due to price and average food. The restaurant was decorated nice, upscale, but I couldn' tell if you were suppose to dress up or if it was casual.
holy cow!. A lot of imposters out there.Brook's is the real deal. The best steak houses in the country are independants, not chains.
Wow!. Having grown up in Kansas City, I've had many great steaks but NONE rank higher than the filet I had at Brook's. Not a cheap place, but if you want the best with fantastic service... you found your steakhouse.
Great Service, great food.
Brooks is a wonderful place and we were fortunate
enough to experience it twice within the last three
months. The food was out of this world and our
waiter (Chris) treated us like we were his only table
both times he waited on us. He entertained my whole family and made the evening. I highly recommend Brook's!
Make Mine Brook's. Denver has so many great steakhouses, it's hard to choose a favorite. Although I read a lot of reviews about the irregular service at Brooks, the night 8 of us celebrated a 30th wedding anniversary, you would have thought we owned the place. Outstanding service with just the right attention, and the food was top shelf...definitely a keeper!
What A Wait!. Great food, the steaks are so tender they melt in your mouth and very attentive service. The one problem, as with all other Denver high end steakhouses, is the wait - we had a 7:15 reservation but did not sit down until 8:15!
Pricey, but good. Fine dining, not so much, but it's a steak house. Excellent and attentive service (Lisa was outstanding). The Brooks salad was as good a salad as I've ever had, textures and tastes that blended extremely well. The steak was cooked as ordered entirely edible. The lamb chops were among the better I've had. A good bottle of Italian Red (Monte Christa) rounded out an overall pleasurable dining experience. Escargot was also excellent.
Unforgettable. I ate at Brook's for the first time back in October of 1998 while I was in Denver for a convention. To this day, I have never forgotten the steak I had there! My mouth still waters when I think of it, and it remains as the best steak I have ever had. I am so glad that we recently moved to Colorado Springs, so I can go back Brook's whenever I crave a good steak feast!
