good sushi and not too crowded. I came here on a Monday night after work with a group of ten people. The restaurant has happy hour deals on Mondays. After work is not crowded at all and we had prompt seating; it's located in a strip mall with not a lot of visibility from the street. They also gave us free miso soup and free house salads while we were waiting for our sushi to be prepared, presumably because we turned in such a large sushi order all at one time. The sushi was delicious and I'll definitely be back. The only downside was that they overcharged us an extra sake, but considering $1.75 happy hour price, our large group, and the freebies, we decided it wasn't worth the effort of correcting.
Take it from an expert!!. As a connesseur of fine sushi from around the US, I must say that this is among the best sushi you will find. No flash here, as teh small strip mall setting does not do this place justice. But the atmosphere is good, service is excellent, and the sushi is excellent.
Best Sushi I have had in two cities..
I love sushi and I know when it is good. I place little to no value on pretense and glam but I do value the fundamentals of dining. This place has fantastic sushi and they present it so elegantly. I have been to Sushi Den and other places in Houston and this is the best. I have tried many types of sushi but salmon, tuna, and fatty tuna are the ones I am always drawn to. All are great at Sushi Wave. We're regulars at Sushi Wave because we always get top-notch service (favorite waitress: Jen!). Udon, spicy beef, teryaki steak, garlic beef, tempura, and rolls - all are fantastic and well-presented.
Atmosphere is contemporary, casual, family-friendly (no crying kids tho), and quiet. No pretense here. This place is 9.5+ easily.
Simply wonderful. This place has incredible food. Try the Scallop dynamite for a last item - it's like dessert and you'll want more. The Uni was so fresh and buttery. Atmosphere was nice and comfortable without being too trendy. They make their own low-sodium soy sauce and the service was great.
Wave Good-Bye To This Place!. I was not impressed!!! The food is not so great! I was there not once, but twice. My second experience was as bad as the first! If you are a sushi bar hopper, and know good sushi when you taste it, this is not the place for you!
Above-avg sushi in S. part of Denver. It's not mind-blowing stuff, but still very good. The strip-mall it sits in is unattractive, but inside it's very nice. Decent prices, and you get a lot of good sushi for the money.
Excellent presentation and taste. I have never seen sushi presented so well. There are a number of sushi and fish dishes that I have seen at no other area restaurant. Recommended.
Ride the Wave. Great Staff! Sushi is ALWAYS fresh and nicely presented. Great alternative for folks that live in the south part of Denver.
