We ordered the Ahi Tuna Sashimi for an appetizer, and were blown away by the fantastic flavor. It melts on your tongue! Having never had lamb chops before, I took a chance and ordered it - now I'm a huge fan of lamb. Overall, it was a great dining experience - we'll definitely be back! Location can be easily overlooked - you'll find it in the shopping center just west of Fay Myers Honda on Arapahoe Road (and I-25).
Save your Money.
Got a groupon so we thought we would try it. Service was fine no problems there.
Food is very expensive, especially for the portions you receive. Wife had a vegetarian dish that consisted of 4 sliced tomatoes, rice and pita bread all for $15. I had the Fiesta plate. Overcooked salmon, 2 scallops and 3 shrimp. $25. Side salad $2.50 and exactly what was quoted in the previous review. Fish was chewy at best. Best part of the meal was my kids hamburger. $5 Had seen this place for years but never been in before. Think i will keep walking. Too bad, major disappointment.
Best Burgers and Seafood. Mesquite Grill is one of the best restaurant in DTC area. The burgers are excellent with great taste, very juicy and seasoned to perfection. I just love the way Robert (owner/chef) prepare and cook his burgers in traditional style cooking, using woods and not gas. Who use wood cooking nowaday? Nobody, except Mesquite Grill. My favorite is the Santa Fe burger with swiss cheese and BBQ sause will blow you away. Also, try their seafood, its fresh and very very good. If you have tried Mesquite Grill you are missing out on great food and service.
Best Seafood in town. I've eaten at Mesquite Grill several times for lunch and have always had a great experience. The hamburgers are juicy and nicely seasoned. There is a wide selection of fresh fish sandwiches that are cooked perfectly, the fish practically melts in your mouth. Also try their clam chowder, its made in house and I never miss it.
The WORST seafood restaurant in town - do yourself a favor and go to Red Lobster instead!. This was the WORST dining experience I have had in a LONG time. I'm usually pretty easy to please. This place was terrible. First, they brought out a miniature cup of clam chowder for my husband....I don't even think there were any actual clams in it. I've had better clam chowder from a can. Then, they brought my son's chicken fingers out. The chicken was still pink in the middle. We sent it back and while they were re-cooking that, my husband and I both got our tuna. What a disappointment! We both asked for the tuna steaks to be seared (cold in the middle). Mine was WAY overcooked - completely cooked through. My husband's was only slightly better. For some reason I felt bad sending that back, since we'd already sent the chicken back. The "side" dishes were an ambarassment. We got TWO tiny red potatoes, about the size of my 10 month old baby's fist and the potatoes were plain - no butter, parsley, nothing and they weren't even cut up. The other "side" was a small cluster of maybe 6 or 7 grapes. I was too dumfounded to say anything at the restaurant, but when I got home I called and spoke to the manager, Robert. We had used a gift card to pay for a small portion of our meal and his response was that we didn't pay very much for our meal so "what did you expect". Those are his words. And then he came down on me for not saying anything to the waitress, and for waiting until we were home to call him! There were only 2 other tables seated in the whole place, so I expected that they'd be able to cook our food correctly! But apparently if you use a gift card here, you don't deserve good food! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I will never go here again. I cannot believe that they have been around as long as they have. No value for the money. I've had a better meal at McDonald's!!!
Horrible experience, despicable food. The food was absolutely disappointing. The portions were tiny, the presentation was non-existential and on top of that the meals very harshly overpriced especially for the quality. ($20 and up). The salad that we paid $2 extra looked like was put together by a 2 year old...I wanted to laugh it was so pathetic with bits and pieces of tomato and cucumber crumbled on top....With the main dish it felt like it sombody just picked it out from the frozen isle section. The rice pilaf was just ordinary cooked white rice...Not even mentioning the vegetables served with our meals; it looked and tasted like it had gone through a meat grinder. The fish was mediocre, nothing special and the tuna over cooked. We were so angry that we just paid the bill and left. None of us are ever going back there again. If you want to avoid a disappointing evening with close to dog-food like quality meals DO NOT GO TO MESQUITE GRILL!!!!
Good Seafood in Colorado.
I have driven by Mesquite House on a daily bases for the last 5 years and never new it even existed. Come to find out the Mesquite House has been in business at this location for over 19 years.
A friend and I went to Mesquite House for lunch. We both had a cup of Clam Chowder that was very good. I ordered the Ahi Tuna with Artichoke Sauce; the tuna was some of the best fish I have eaten in Colorado, and the Artichoke Sauce was fantastic. My friend, which is not a fish eater, ordered the halibut that he believed was average, but I thought it was quite good. While waiting for our meals the owner brought out a large sample of Grouper that was very good. All the fish was cooked perfectly. The Grouper and Halibut were both white and flakey, but not over done. And the Tuna was a perfect rear to medium rear.
I believe this is a great alternative to Fresh Seafood Company, Pappadeaux and Willie G?s. The ambiance is not great, but the food makes up for it.
$60 Pen.
The empty dining room on a Saturday night should have been our first clue, but we were hungry and wanted to try something new, so we decided to give it a go.
We were served with mismatched silverware and plates. Not an important feature, but speaks miles as to the quality of the restaurant.
The food was horrible. The bread served with our meal looked and tasted like toasted hot dog buns.
I've had better fish from the frozen food isle at the grocery store. The crab cakes were the worst I've ever tried.
Our waitress watched us like a hawk; I think she thought we were going to skip out on our check, which we honestly considered. Instead, we paid our $60, took the pen provided to sign for our check and swore never to return.
This place was fabulous..... This spot was very intimate and well run. The owners were very welcoming and the crab cakes are to die for!!
