My boyfriend and I had lunch her last week. I have to say I would never go back. We ordered shrimp cocktail we were give 4 small shrimp and paid $10. The salad was below average. When The owner heard us complain about the small size he came out and was arguing with us and said he has been in business for 20 yrs and has never received a complaint... Not the case by the other reviews. So, he is also a liar...hmmm. The size of the main dish was at best 6 bites .; this includes the fish (maybe 1 oz) and mixed veggies. The price of our lunch was $50. I can not believe this place can feel good about running a restaurant and ripping off the customers. My boyfriend said it best when we left "He has never paid $50 for a meal and left as hungry as when we arrived." Sad, Sad excuse for a restaurant! Needless to say when we left the owner knew how we felt and he did NOTHING to make it right! Save your money and time pass on this place.
Legendary for being awful. If there was a 0 star option, I would use that. We paid $19 for 3 scallops What The Hell? We brought it to attention and received nothing. Not even a free beverage or dessert. All portions are ity bitty for $20.00 each. 5 grapes, 5 bites of vegetables. My fish servings were so little in the mixed grill, 5 -6 bites from the tail of the fish. I was counting. What a total rip off. Then to pay a 18% tip? For what? Don't go here, save your hard earned money for somewhere that will give serve you a meal vs. a snack.
OMG. This place is awful.. Purchased a Groupon and was excited to try them out.The staff was friendly. My wife and I both ordered the Mahi Mahi. When they came out they smelled bad and were over cooked (Dry and tough). Same price as McCormick's, not the same atmosphere or quality.
A Wonderful Surprise!!. My husband and I were on our first date night after having our daughter. We found Mesquite Grill on Groupons and decided to try it out. Simple from the outside but the service was absolutely excellent and the food was delicious! Now, I love seared tuna, my husband on the other hand
Would definitely go back!. I purchased a groupon for this restaurant. My husband and I had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked into this little establishment. First of all, it is a family owned and operated place that has been around since 1988. The restaurant is quaint, tucked away in a strip mall, next to a Vitamin Cottage. We both started our meal with the New England Clam Chowder. It was perfect! Next, we had the surf and turf, which included a delicious Filet Mignon cooked to perfection and Grouper that had a scrumptious lemon dressing on it. Both portions were generous and cooked perfectly. I ordered the potatoes as a side and sprinkled them with the restaurant's homemade special seasoning (a cajun seasoning with paprika, garlic, salt, spices). Very good flavor. My husband enjoyed his mixed vegetables and house made coleslaw. At this point, we were both stuffed but really wanted to try the homemade peach cobbler. We were not disappointed! This was the best cobbler we have ever tried! The bread concoction was moist, warm and literally melted in our mouths. The vanilla ice cream on the side complimented it perfectly. Not only was the food delicious, the service was incredible. The friendly owner and sweet waitress checked on us multiple times. We would gladly go back and support this wonderful establishment! If you are looking for a family owned and operated place with great service, check this place out. If it were not for groupon, we never would have known about this place, but now that we do, we will share our great find with everyone!
Bad Bad Bad !!!!.
Used Groupon to try this out. Atmosphere should have made me suspicious.......Air conditioner was out......hot.
Ordered steak (medium)and shrimp ($26). Steak came out raw. They had to cook 3 times get it right. Good mesquite flavor but dry. Shrimp had incorrect batter and was not flavorful.......very small. Good service but small portions and prices were a joke. To top it off used car salesman Julio Iglesius told my wife the raw steak was not raw............"Its just the lighting"........."It good, you eat it". Last time I buy Groupon unless I read reviews of any restaurant. Traveled to many destinations in US and Denver seems to be lacking good restaurants. I have definitely have 3 that are good but 20 or more that are almost as bad as this one. Open for suggestions.
Legendary for being awful. if there was a 0 star option, I would use that. Unfortunately I have to select at least 1 star. Used a coupon from the Entertainment book, should have known. I won't even begin to explain how awful it was, just save your money.
Better Than Florida! And We Should Know!!. We were visiting friends in Colorado and had no clue where to eat. They suggested their favorite place, The Mesquite Grill. We were very skeptical about having seafood there since we live in the seafood capital of the world, Florida. We ordered the Grouper and the Red Snapper and I can't remember having a better meal. We had a mini argument over whose meal was the best! Who knew!!!! I truly don't know what the other Reviewers are talking about because ours was truly magnificent! And the service couldn't have been better. I found out that our waitress was the owner's wife and she took great pride in making sure we were treated like royality. Oh, she also paints glassware and has a mini gallery in the restaurant. We left with Wine Glasses and a Pitcher with PALM TREES on them that we purchased from her!!!! IN COLORADO! A great gift to take back to Florida!!! When we visit Colorado again, that will be the first place we head back too. NO QUESTION!!!
Great Service- Food was inconsistent- Ambience not great. My husband and I had a last minute date night at this family owned restaurant. The ambience is ok, felt a little half into fine dining and half in family dining with fine dining prices. The service was terrific and we enjoyed this family owned operation. Everyone was personable, friendly and FAST. Had the calamari and it felt a little too greasy. We ordered the surf and turf and the steak was melt in your mouth terrific. Best steak I have had ANYWHERE in a long time. I didn't care for the lobster as I am from the east coast and am of the belief that lobster doesn't need "help" with seasonings, it should stand on it own merits. Overall it was good experience.
