In Short – Built in 1970 in the middle of a cattle ranch, this spot looks the part with its red-barn exterior. Standard Golden-Era musicals are the rule, and once or twice a year there's an Agatha Christie whodunit. The stage has two levels that are controlled hydraulically. At showtime, the upper stage slides down ready to go and dressed with sets and actors. Tiered seating for 470 surrounds the stage.
The Definition of Bad Theater

To say the least, the production of Grease at the Country Dinner Playhouse offered very little in the way of decent entertainment. Not only did it lack a satisfactory set design, a competent band, a good director and talented actors, the Country Dinner Playhouse also made the mistake of revising the script so that it was more family friendly. The night began with a terrible selection of overcooked fish, old caesar salad, and green jello followed by the Barnstormers, a select group of mediocre singers designed to attract the audience to the upcoming playhouse productions. Needless to say, the night rapidly declined from there. The Country Dinner Playhouses version of Grease is the definition of bad theater. There was no rule the actors didnt break, no song they didnt sing badly. Watching it was similar to a slow, painful death, and I wouldnt wish the experience on my worst enemies.
- Pros: so bad it's funny
- Cons: Terrible, waste of time, close to suicide
