Fun place, good food. I visited the Platte Rvr B&G the other day while I was getting my car detailed at Jazz next door. A very comfortable and friendly place. Food and service were just fine.
Full of personality. Wait staff, bartenders and the customers that come in there have awesome personalitys. There all different types of groups that come in there and its awesome to see bikers at one table, bicyclists at another and the red hat society in the middle of them lol. Great people watching and awesome food exspecially the wings, mahi mahi fish tacos and always the famous biker burgers. I love this bar and how hard they try to keep everything fun. I love trivia on tuesdays. I've never seen a better show.…
Best Patio and Live Bands. Saturday Night is a Must.
The first time I rediscovered the Platte River Bar and Grill, I was riding my Raleigh along the Platte River from Chatfield Reservoir to downtown Denver. I hadn't been there for some 15 to 20 years
and the deck had been expanded. The place was sleepy on a very sunny Tuesday afternoon so I took a seat at the outside bar. The waitress, a beauty of a gal looking like a pinup from the 50's named Ann. She had a spicy yet fun attitude and took my order. She suggested the Mahi Fish Tacos and they were excellent. I then met one of the owners, Ponch. He's a very likable fellow and makes you feel at home the moment you meet him. We shot the breeze for a bit and before you know it I had been there pretty close to 3 hours. I had such a good time I wanted to see what it was like on a Friday night. Ponch had told me to be prepared and I told him I'd come in and get them some pictures and write a puff piece for them.
Well I'm happy to say he was right. I thought I was prepared for any type of a bar in Denver, but what I saw that Friday night was reminiscent of my favorite bar in Key West called the Hog's Breath Saloon. I arrived at about 7p.m. and the place was hoping. The outdoor patio was packed and the indoor bar as well. It reminded me of Hog's Breath for two reasons. The first was the diversity of people there and the fact that nobody, in fact nobody at all all night, were ever frowning. Everyone was extremely happy and there were four birthday parties going on and one bachlorette party along with numerous families and kids. The second reason was that it fit all types of people. There were yuppies and golfers, bikers and beauties, river folk, (they had tubed down the river to the Platte River Bar and Grill), people riding they're bicycles and many other types. Much like any bar in the Florida Keys yet it's here in our backyard so to speak.
Great food. Cheap Drinks. Awesome Service. Ask for Ann or Tony for service.…
Beers, bikes, boys. There is not a better deck in Denver. The deck has a great view, kickin' hot wings, and lots to look at. Harley, choppers, bike riders, families, players, etc. Always fun, good people watching, friendly people, just chill and enjoy the day. Recommend the hot wings, nachos and any burger.... Weekends and anytime in the summer.........…
