What People Are Saying About Romano's Italian Restaurant
The Owner
Romano's Italian Restaurant
Owner
The Romano family celebrates 40 years of serving the families of Littleton and the South Metro area. Neil and Ellie Romano opened the original Romano?s on Windermere Street in Littleton on December 1, 1967. This is a rare gem in the ever changing restaurant scene: a family owned and operated business for 40 years. Italian restaurants today are often run by huge corporations, but the roots of Romano?s success run deep into the Italian American way of life. Neil was born and raised in ?Little Italy? in New York City. He took the recipes that he learned in his mother?s kitchen and turned them into a successful small business.
Over the years, Neil and Ellie Romano passed on to their children: Sue, John and Nick, the values that this restaurant is built on?their high standards of quality and customer service.

Romano's is a family run business. You enter the restaurant and the kitchen is behind the counter and the delightful smell of home cooking starts you mouth watering. The foods home style, so no fancy "presentation" just good food and plenty of it. Most people take home boxes with the leftovers. I'm from New York City and have eaten Italian in Little Italy and all over the City and Romano's can hang with the best of the family restaurants back East. Good ol' home cooked Italian. Pizza's great too.

ok, being Italian, being a chef and loving Italian food I have to be honest and fair and say that Romano's is awful. Their, "homestyle" noodles are disguisting!! The dried noodles arent much better either. We have been several times, to both locations and the experience is always the same, the servers are fair at best and the place is usually dirty, I mean straw wrappers on the floor, dirty dishes stacked up, nastiness on the walls, etc. The worst thing of all is the food, it is bland, uninspired and pedestrian. You could get better "Italian" food from olive garden! It really isnt hard to create good Italian food. Most of the famous dishes from the country are peasant style dishes. It doesnt have to be expensive, fancy or formal, it just has to be good and Romanos falls far far short of the mark.
