Best Chinese Food In Metro Denver

I reviewed this restaurant some years ago on this site.

Nothing has changed! My wife and I have dined there almost weekly for the past 12 years. Food is still wondeful and fresh. Prices have raised very little in past 12 years but of course are up a reasonable amount.

It's a family operation. The kids are the servers along with Mom. The owner/chef is the husband. They are not very friendly by American standards and only the kids are fluent in English. Have not seen the crankiness in recent years [that I mentioned in my previous review].

Excellent value and truly fine food.

[ I wish they'd have enough marketing sense to take down the beat up blinds and dress up the restrooms a bit. But the food and kitchen seem to be clean]

• Pros: Absolutely fresh and tasty food! Well worth trying and ignore the 'cons.'
• Cons: Everyone could 'sparkle up' their personalty a bit. Service is a bit indifferent

Hail the General!!!

I didn't like Chinese food before this place; now I can't get enough. I could eat here every day. General Tao's chicken is my favorite, along with Sesame Chicken. Together, with rice, I am in heaven. Another rating said the service was slow, but you can order it to go and they have it ready for you in 10 minutes! I love this place. My absolute favorite restaurant.

Great food from a cranky cook!

My wife and I feel that this is the best chinese food to be found in Denver and boy have we looked!

The war won ton soup is a complete meal in itself for $3.75. Loaded with chicken, shrimp and vegetables and the broth is to die for.

All crusts are obviously made fresh whether the egg roll or the sweet and sour shrimp. Speaking of sweet and sour -- best sauce in Colorado. Just the right tang.

Any entree can be ordered with the Empress add-on which includes a complete pu pu platter, soup and egg roll for only $3.75 extra.

Each dish has it's own flavor and unlike some chiness restaurants wherin all light sauces taste the same.

Word of warning: The cook (the owner) can be cranky but boy can he cook. Service is slow but gets done with the food served hot.
