Marlowe's

A favorite meeting place in Downtown Denver.

  • Private banquets available
  • Next to Paramount Theater
  • Locally owned and operated

The place to eat in Denver since 1985, Marlowe's remains a popular gathering spot for lunch, dinner or after work. The restaurant serves steaks, chops, seafood, salads and fresh Maine lobster. The seven-foot martini glass adorning Marlowe's facade is a reflection of the extensive martini list and daily happy hour martini specials available at Marlowe's.

Editorial Review for Marlowe's – by Citysearch Staff

In Short
Conventioneers, tourists and locals have been depositing themselves at this old bank building on the 16th Street Mall for more than a dozen years. It has vaulted ceilings, expansive windows and a large patio. Steaks are the main attraction, but seafood, pastas and salads are also options. Patrons can wash their meal down with the restaurant's own Big Nose Beer or a drink from the bar, like a specialty martini.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Be warned: The open seating area is packed before and after shows at the Paramount Theater next door.

Parking

It's mainly street parking, but there is an underground lot across the street in the Pavilions. However, the restaurant doesn't validate.

Know Before You Go

The kitchen usually stops serving a couple of hours before the bar closes.

This restaurant is moving toward cutting edge. Just look at the menu and speak with the chef's. They have fresh food and ingredients... it's not the same old boring thing each month. As for the service.. it can be improved ..but the same goes for every place in the area ... when your flooded with customers .. it's virtually impossible to meet all the needs of the consumer. I give this place 4 1/2 stars. - geno

If you DO end up at Marlowe's, try the Bellinni Tini. Yum! The food is so-so at best. BUT...the staff is a NIGHTMARE. I sat and watched a hostess seat 9 people and not once did she smile. I also watched her roll her eyes and shake her head everytime a customer asked her a question. I was apalled! If that wasn't bad enough, I witnessed the servers bad mouth another customer--right in front of other customers. Maybe I'm being too observant, but it was the worst restaurant experience ever.
