Really bad service. We were part of a group that was there for a brewery tour and dinner. Totally disorganized, took well over 3 hours for this to take place. We had to practically beg for menus and silverware, then once the food was delivered 2 members of our party didn't get theirs. By the time they got it to the table, one person just took it in a box since we had been there so long by then. The food was good, but that's about all I can say for it. I'll not be back.
GREAT!. My brother and I visited the Wynkoop Brewery on our last trip to Denver. We only stopped in for a couple beers, however we ended coming back a couple hours later for more! Great beer, great service, great price. I will be moving to the area next year and plan on becoming a regular customer! THANKS!
Great Beer and Mussels. Highly recommend both the beer varities and the mussels in a savory wine-garlic-butter - yummy sauce...Ask for extra bread. Also the Gorganzola soup is fantastic!
What Decline. My husband and I went here for our first date back in 1997. The atmosphere, food and beer was great. After years of living in Chicago, we moved back and have gone here twice. The first time back in 2009 was a disappointment, but we decided to give it a second chance last November. The place smelled like decades of food, dirt and grime buried in the floor, cracks and crevices of the brewery. The food was such a disappointment. The flavors and the quality was just not there. It's amazing how much this place has declined. We won't be coming back here.
Good Food, Good Beer, Great Hot Sauce. Excellent place to start the night - good food and they have their own hot sauce that is incredible. It has beer mixed in it - kick ass.
From an experianced diner. I took my wife here for her 30th birthday. So, they don't take reservations on the weekends and we were good consumers and made adjustments. We arrived and hour before our party was to arrive and was told that the wait was an hour, no problem. An hour and a half later I checked back with the host stand and was told that the GM of the Wynkoop came in with his own private party and took the seating area the host stand was reserving for us! We waited another 30 minutes only to have our party broken up over three tables. Not one person came by to apologize or offer and compensation for the horrible experiance, oh that's right the GM was to busy pushing around paying customers and feeding his own ego to care about anyone else.
Good food, atrocious beer..
Food: Excellent bar food at very good prices.
Service: Sub par, both nights.
Atmosphere/Layout: Great. A beautiful interior. VERY nice place and close to the Rockies stadium.
Beer: BAD! I was surprised. By far the worst beer I've ever had at any brew pub/brewery. I tried all, but one or two of the beers they have on tap (nearly a dozen). Their stout was okay and a few others were drinkable, but extremely unremarkable. Others were just god awful. Undrinkable. When I tell someone in my party a beer "tastes like food" when he asked how it was, you know you're in trouble.
Not impressed. The restaurant was extremely warm, the music was way to loud. The waitress didn't speak above a whisper, the fish and chips were very disappointing. Not worth the money. With all the other restaurants in the area you would be wise to try them instead.
My new favorite restaurant in Denver!. While walking around LoDo and the 16th Street Mall, my husband & I happened upon this place. Being lovers of great and unique beers, we thought it was worth a try at least. Boy, were we blown away. The beer is great (some of the best we've had), and the food is really good too. We actually expected to pay alot more given the amount of beer and food we'd ordered, but were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived. Service was great on a busy Saturday evening, and everyone seemed really friendly. I can't wait to get back to Denver to revisit this place!
Delicious Beer and Fun Appetizers. The wide array of beers and history of the Wynkoop are definitely the best reasons to visit and I think they hold their own as the only reason you'll need. Everything from standard ales to framboise is offered and if you've got the time, money and a ride home you should try each and every one! The appetizers are fillng and a good value. There is plenty of seating, but bellying up the bar for a game is a fun experience and a good way to meet lots of people.
