Your staff cost you thousands the other day.. If your young, uneducated, rude girls knew what customer service actually was, my $150 I spent would have been thousands! You buy well, but if I got one more second of attitude from one of your unintelligent staff who thought I was there to just "look" I was about to tell them them to shove it. I am a very successful buyer for a national department store and I was totally appalled by your staff. I understand employing young girls for minimum wage is easier, but I seriously was angered by their rude and abrupt demeanor. I only bought the hat due to your buying skills, I would have bought so much more if your staff had half a brain to treat customers like people, not pocket books, and actually learn how to sell, Good luck, your store is beautiful, your staff is ugly on the inside and has no talent on suggestive selling. I have never complained in my 15 years as a retail executive, but your ladies need to learn how to sell, and treat a customer with respect. Totally disappointed I even spent over $150.00 at your store with a staff like that. I sure hope they do not get commission for being full of attitude. (I'm being nice by calling it attitude)! I do wish Mariel the best of luck, but rethink that you could have had over a thousand dollar sale in less than an hour if it wasn't for your staff.
BEAUTIFUL DRESSES AND BEAUTIFUL SERVICE!. I just bought my dress at Mariel yesterday and after trying on dresses at many stores, I have to say they have amazing service and a great selection of couture looks at great prices.I appreciate their store policys as my gown is in perfect condition . I enjoyed their special assistance, it was like having my own personal stylist!
Absolute WORST Bridal Shop. TERRIBLE. They claim their dresses are unique to the area, this is an outright LIE. Other stores carry the same collections in the metro area. The service was literally the worst I have EVER been treated in a store. The saleswoman PHYSICALLY MANHANDLED ME. A dress was twisted so I went to adjust it and she ripped my arm away from the dress! There is a no photos policy and when I asked about this heavily hinting that I would NOT buy the dress without a photo of it, she just said "well, it's the owners policy." Also, while trying on veils, she just jammed the combs into my hair then ripped them out, taking plenty of my hair with them. Meanwhile she repeatedly insulted my man of honor, telling him he was worthless. I am stunned by the way I was treated at this store and strongly discourage anyone from shopping there.
Pleasantly Surprised. I have to admit, after reading several reviews I was a little intimated about shopping at Mariel’s for my wedding dress. The shop came highly recommended by a colleague, so I gathered up my courage and made an appointment (Step 1). From the moment I walked in the store, I was greeted warmly and treated with care, kindness, and respect. Jenny assisted me, with some help and input from Denise, the owner, and I was very pleased with my entire shopping experience. I read about “the rules” of the store in other reviews, and was reminded again when I started my appointment, so there were no surprises. I understand their rationale for such rules and when I selected my dress I was very grateful it was in pristine condition. Jenny and Denise were very helpful and gave great advice about how to accessorize the dress. They were not pushy or rude; in fact they gave me lots of room to make my decision. My dress is beautiful and affordable. I won’t hesitate to recommend the shop to others and I plan to do more shopping at Mariel’s in the future.
Completely Ruined Wedding Dress Shopping Experience. NO STARS! I have been window shopping at Mariel for a few years, waiting for my engagement and wedding dress shopping experience. After my recent engagement, I took my mom and a friend with the expectations of finding a unique and affordable dress. However, the lady who was helping me was extremely rude! They sell their samples, so obviously they try to take care of them, but they take it to a whole new level! No pictures, and I was not allowed to touch ANY part of the dress! Instead of being able to look through the racks and feel the material, etc., she had to pull out each one individually and ended up skipping sections because it was too much work. Before even going into the dressing room, I already felt awkward and like my experience was slipping away. I should have not even tried anything on. But, I wiped off my hands and face with a wipe, put a net over my head, and started the process. Awkward. Then, the lady snapped at my mom twice about barely touching a dress (wedding gown and evening gown alike). By the second dress, I felt like I couldn't even breathe the air... worse than going to a musuem. So much so that my mom and friend sat down 5 feet away from me and didn't get up to see any more dresses up close. I was extremely shocked and very saddened by what should have been a wonderful time with my mom and friend, trying on beautiful wedding dresses. Instead, I got a rude, bossy, uninformative, and condescending sales associate who stripped away ALL of the fun and excitement of wedding dress shopping. Luckily, at my next appointment at D'Annelli, I found THE ONE and purchased immediatly.
AMAZING, LOVE IT, WONDERFUL.
I have been hunting for the perfect wedding dress for months and I went to Mariel and had the best experience. The woman who helped me, Erica, was the most experienced and helpful person I have encountered on my search. She did not pressure me into buying a dress like they do at other shops. It was a laid back and fun environment.
Besides how wonderful Erica was and how great she made me feel, the selection and prices are impossible to beat. They have unique gowns and ridiculously low prices.
I would and have suggested this as the best, absolute best, place to get a wedding dress. You will be extremely impressed by this shop.
As with ANY wedding shop make sure to schedule an appointment before.
Totally Tacky.
This seemed to be quite the controversial shop, so I decided to pop in last week because I'd heard so much about it.
Having just moved from New York, I was expecting a typical trendy boutique. Unfortunately, this store only perpetuates the stereotype that women out west spend a fortune to look cheap.
Awesome!!!. I bought my wedding dress from Mariel's yesterday and went back today to buy a dress for my rehearsal dinner. I have been searching for the perfect dress for some time now. I found the perfect one at Mariel's. Their dresses are unbelievably inexpensive and they are all very unique. I paid $438 for mine and I was willing to spend much more. They salesperson was very helpful. Denise the owner was there as well and she had great ideas and opinions too. I would recommend Mariel's to anyone!!! Make an appointment first but you must go there.
Sooo rude!!!. This was the first place I walked into to look for my wedding dress and was so excited to get started, but the experience was quickly ruined by the very rude and condescending sales girl. My sister purchased her gown at Mariel for her wedding and had a good experience, but I would find it hard to spend one penny here. When my mother and I said we were there to look at wedding dresses she snapped "I cannot open the cases without an appointment." Which was fine and I understand, but she never offered to help make an appointment or explain the process, furthermore she said "our gowns range in price from $500-$900" and said it in a way like she thought we couldn't afford it.
Thankyou Mariel!. I have passed by Mariel in Larimer Square many times, and I can see how the store can look intimidating because of the beautiful decor, but once you step inside the staff is very friendly, and the prices are not at all what you would expect for the latest trends. They help me find some great pieces to update my wardrobe and I was told you cannot find these designers in other stores in town. I wanted to try on wedding gowns that day and was told that I had to make an appointment. They explained to me that their policies were different then other bridal stores because their gowns were available for immediate purchase and they were not sample gowns. I made an appointment and I was pleasantly surprised. They found the perfect gown for me and no alterations were needed. The gown was absolutely gorgeous and I got the dress, shoes, veil, and jewelry for under $1000! I want to thank the Mariel staff for the great experience and Denise for picking out great gowns at affordable prices!
