We came here on Valentine's day and it was not very romantic at all. Food was good, server was okay.
To be honest I have had much better steaks, though the service was good and the beers ice cold.
What a experience.
i had been traveling for 24 hours and was very hungry and new a glass of wine would also bring me back to life so my husband and I stopped into Sullivan's for a happy hour bite.
We sat on the patio and enjoyed a Chardonnay and a couple of the tavern steaks. I thought the wine was wonderful but the steaks were not the quality i remember from the last time i was in, but our waitress Allison was Lovely! She made us feel like were like VIPs even though she had never taken care of us before! I will be back and i hope that she will be available to take care of us again! I had a very happy hour at Sullivan's!

Good Service, lousy food.. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Our food was awful, ordered a steak medium, it came back charred on the outside and bloody on the inside. Had the wedge salad and that too was on old wilty lettuce. You do not get what you pay for...
Terrific- don't listen to the haters!.
I have dined at Sullivan's at least seven times in the last two years. I've dined alone, with my wife and with a group. During that time, the service has been unfailingly excellent, the food superb and the overall experience delightful. I love to eat at top shelf steakhouses and in my mind, Sullivan's is one which is easily equal to Brooks', Del Frisco's or Morton's and less pricey. And, it's easily superior to Elway's or Shanahans.
Don't buy the vitriol of some of these reviews, and very skeptical of their validity. If the service at " Sully's" is actually as bad as these haters claim, the place would close in a couple of months! (especially in this economy!)
Overall, don't do it.. At one time it was good. No longer. Granted, some of the staff has been very accommodating and professional. However, by some a bit too accommodating and distasteful. There have been times when the bartendress was plainly intoxicated beyond belief, and almost anything was for sale. You name it. Yes, a fact. OK, we are in a social setting, but no standards seem to apply. The husband and wife manager execute classless style and egomania. The reviews are mixed, and rightfully so. Sometimes it was, indeed, enjoyable. Mostly not. The food had its moments, although not many. Why gamble? Don't bother with Del Fresco's, either. Same team. Dreadful. Just a dive posing as a class act. It appears enticing, yet ultimately reveals its pedestrian and cheap thrill wannabe. You will be in for eminent disappointment. Don't take the chance, it's definitely NOT worth it!
Great steak!. I've only eaten here once, after several disappointing steaks in a row at other downtown steakhouses of the same price range. The service was great, the steak was beyond great. I had a 16oz NY strip, the first meat I had eaten in a long time, which I was mostly eating due to recent health issues. So delicious. I've had a lot of medium/medium rare NY strips in my days, and this was in the top 2.
Wonderful Valentine's Dinner!. My husband and I don't usually go out for Valentine's Day -- the restaurants are just too crowded. But this year we decided to risk it and go to Sullivan's, and we are so glad we did! We did have to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation time (7:45) before we were seated, but that was to be expected given the holiday. The service was some of the best we've ever had, and the food was right up there as well. My husband is a red meat lover but I'm not, and it can be hard to make both of us happy at a steakhouse. Not so at Sullivan's . . . the sea bass was to die for! We met the new general manager, Jim, and he was very gracious. We were told the chef is new as well. These guys definitely know what they're doing! We'll be back!
Love this place. love love LOVE this place. I am super picky, I only give five stars where it is deserved. I'm spoiled by a boyfriend who loves to eat as much as I do, so we go out to eat often. I've been to my fair share of restaurants and rarely write reviews, but I had to share with the world how great our experience was at Sullivan's Steakhouse! As far as as I'm concerned the meat here is to DIE for!! The service was incredible. Our server was such a sweetheart, attentive and yet not intrusive (you know how it can be). We were there on a Thursday night which I guess is a happy hour special day that goes on all evening so the environment was really fun. Bar was absolutely packed and they had live jazz playing all night, SO fun. I would recommend this place to anyone and plan on stopping in often.
my experience at sullivan's steakhouse. Being that I am a chef living in Denver, I feel like I can be a good judge of a restaurant. My wife and I stopped in to Sullivan's a couple years ago and it was ok, but when we stopped in a couple weeks ago I must admit I was blown away. The food was fantastic and the service was really unbeatable. Apparently they have a new chef who has only been there for a couple months and I must admit I was thoroughly impressed by him. He even came out to introduce himself and talk with my wife and I. They really know what they are doing here. So happy we gave Sulivan's another shot. I have a feeling we will become regulars here.
