Editorial Review for Vesta Dipping Grill – by Ephraim Mallery
In Short
The decor features waves of gold and copper swirling around giant tables. The contemporary design blends seamlessly with exposed brick walls and the sizzle of the open kitchen. Lamb loin is fall-off-the-bone tender, while a salad of arugula and shaved Romano with fig vinaigrette is simple but sensuous. Dipping entrees include smoked duck breast paired with mango poblano salsa, strips of calamari steak with Vietnamese chili-lime sauce, or ginger-seared tuna with jalapeno mustard.

The food is original. Would be a great place to take a date. Something is just missing from making this a 5-star rating.

We went to Vesta's for a well deserved Friday evening away from the kids. We got street parking right outfront (bring quarters) We had early reservations (5:45) and were a few minutes late. There was no problem being seated, and our table was great. The server was awesome, and knowledgeable about the entire menu. We had ceviche to start, because of all the great reviews. It was pretty good, but we went with the chile verde level, and I think that was a mistake. The best part about ceviche is the freshness, and mixing it with a sauce was interesting. I think next time we would go with the mango poblano, just to make it a little more authenic, or plain with a sauce on the side. While waiting for our entree, they brought us some samples of menu items, which was great. I ordered the pork tenderloin which was delish, there was alot of meat, and tons of rice and onions. (I didnt even eat it all there was so much) Presentatoin was great. It comes with mojito onions, and they did taste like a mojito! I went ahead and got the suggested paired sauces. My husband had the scallops. They were cooked to perfection and a large serving (4-5 large scallops). The sweet potatoes were do good that he ate them even though he doesnt like sweet potatoes. They accidentally brought us hot fudge instead of one of his sauces, but they quickly fixed it, and brought us a complimentary desert sampler to make up for the mistake!! All in all, great dining, I don't have any complaints, and that is odd for me!!
Pros: Knowledgeable staff, samples, ambience, service
Cons: nothing to complain about!!
