In Short – Everyone from out-of-town celebrities to theatergoers gather at this plush restaurant. The gold-and-green decor creates an impression of a castle dining hall, which feels stuffy but turns lively when it's full. Famed local chef Kevin Taylor's menu features items such as seared scallops atop curried cauliflower, meaty white fish infused with fresh fennel and prime sirloin with Gorgonzola potato gratin. The signature dessert is a miniature cake that oozes rich, dark chocolate from the center.
Best Food in Denver, But...

Decided to take my girlfriend to KT's for her birthday. They called me ahead of time to confirm the reservation and ask if there were any special occasions. I notified the restaurant that it was my girlfriend's birthday and they said there would be a surprise complementary desert. I thought that would be perfect and expected the best in service.
My girlfriend never received any recognition for her birthday after dining nor any complimentary desert. There was a lot of extras for other parties for engagements and anniversaries that night. We just got the check for a lot of $$$$. They forgot. Despite how good the food was the experience sucked. I emailed them after the fact and never received a reply.
The atmosphere is extremely stuffy and distant. Definitly not an intmante, romantic restaurant. I felt like I was a mile from my girlfriend at the table. She joked that the feeling was that we were on a high school date for how awkward the table and the service was. I felt the same.
My advice is to avoid restaurant KT's unless you are a die hard foodie. There are so may other places in Denver with good food for less $, with so much better service and atmosphere.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Service and Atmosphere
Restaurant Kevin Taylor will drop to a 2 Star Mobil Restaurant in the next review
by Robare
I have dined in the finest restaurants in the world, not to brag, but to indicate I have the knowledge to speak intelligently about fine dining.
DIning Room Atmosphere: Slightly above average
Service: Well below average for a four star restaurant. The wait staff are too noticably present. In a restaurant of this level they should be like ghosts - Attentive, but never seen.
Food: Great Presentation, but the food is fair at best.
I had the fois gras, which by itself was excellent, but it was totally overwhelmed in flavor my the Vanilla French Toast - not a good pairing.
The lobster salas was worse. The lobster is to be the focus of this dish, but the large pieces of avocado again overwhelmed the dish.
For the main course I ordered the Seared Hawaiian Tuna. The highlight of this dish was the Pork Belly Potstickers. The tuna was lacking in both texture and flavor.
For dessert, I enjoyed the Bittersweet "Liquid Center" Chocalate Cake - Very Good.
Price: The normal day to day price for the four course meal of $65 would be fair, but to escalate the price to $125 per person on special occasions is not.
Restaurant Kevin Taylor is at best a Two Star Restaurant that is charging Five Star Prices with Two Star Service and Food.
- Pros: Dessert
- Cons: Value, Service, Food

This is true five star service! And while not cheap, it was not nearly as expensive as i thought it would be. The food is absolutely fantastic. I will go back again and again!
