Wow! Great Sushi
by Elgonz
My husband and I dropped in for lunch. We are long term fans of the other popular Sushi place in town and we dont settle for "okay" Sushi. Each bite of this Sushi was delicious and great. We even spent time talking to the owner who was warm and hospitable. We tried multiple rolls and traditional nigiri such as tuna, salmon and yellow tale. We also had an amazing mussel dish. It's great to know Denver has such great options for the Sushi lovers living in a land locked state! Great work Sushi Han--you've been around 20 years and we know why!!!
- Pros: Pro: Great Sushi
- Cons: Con: None
Horrible Customer Service....
by snowangel2000
We stopped in on a whim... the place wasn't very busy, now i know why. There was no one at the host table to seat us, a young woman came out of the back but did not help us, finally we got a spot at the end of the sushi bar. A couple arrived minutes after us and were promptly given seats next to us, it was pretty obvious they knew the owners. Before our waitress had even greeted us or brought water, the couple next to us already had their food!!! We waited about 20 minutes without being helped, and we should have walked out at that point. When our sushi order finally came, we weren't given dishes for our soy sauce, and they messed up our order at that point we sent back the items that were wrong ate what we could. We had already wasted so much time there we didn't have time to go anywhere else. It was absolutely absurd to watch the people next to us being given salads that weren't on the menu while chatting up the sushi chef while we were IGNORED!!! There is GREAT sushi in Denver but my advise would be:STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AND THEIR INATTENTIVE STAFF. (unless you have time and money to waste... doubt it....)
- Pros: some of the sushi was edible
- Cons: slow, inattentive, you only get good treatment if you know the owner/chef, drinks are overpriced
Not bad for downtown, but certainly not the best. Better then Sonoda's!
by Heshsnatch
So being as I live only a block away from Sushi Han, I felt an obligation to give it a try after having a disappointing experience at Sonoda's at 16th and Market last time. I had read some of the other reviews here and saw things ranging from WOW to WORST sush ever. A friend and I decided to give it a try for ourselves today. We went in around noon and were promptly seated. I had read things about the service being slow so I made sure to make our presence known. Inside the decor was nice and seemed elegant and clean.
We ended up ordering some crab tempura as an appetizer which looked good but was small in portion size. Saigon Bowl has one that is a billionty times better. Next up was a philly roll which was creamy and smooth. Followed by a spicy tuna and yellowtail cone, It seemed that the spice was way too much and instead of complimenting it, actually took away from any flavor the sushi had. Last and best, was the Dragon Roll. The eel, crab, and avocado complimented each other well, and it was good to end the meal on a somewhat positive note. Overall the food was decent and the service was ok, I might give it one more try if I wanted somewhere close. Otherwise I would seek out Sushi Sasa or Sushi Den if i wanted to go someplace father away for a better experience.
- Pros: Close to downtown
- Cons: Too much spice
