12/30/2012 It had been a great while (Approx. 2 years) since I had even stepped foot into Anthony's downtown. Would ocasionally purchase a slice or two. Since then I had eaten at the one in Westminster and enjoyed that. I was working late and my spouse wouldn't be home 'till very late I decided to order a pizza for a co-worker and myself and have it delivered. I requested a "Time order" asking it be delivered betweeen 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage at 3:47 p.m. and it was delivered at 6:23. The only reason they get one star from me is because the delivery person was within the time frame and polite. I was surprised to find when I had opened the box that between 20 and 25% of it was burned. NO!, not dark brown but burned. I do not know what was thinner the crust or the pepperoni. The cheese looked as if the pizza had been cooked at 4:00 and then allowed to sit on top of the pizza oven for nearly 2 1/2 hours. Pizza parlors talk about New York style and folding in half when you eat a slice. Any attempt to fold the slice caused the crust to crumble and fall apart. After working 8 hours I was very hungry so I decided to eat it. I don't know exactly what about it was salty. The barely there cracker crust, the sauce, or the cheese. I am sure my blood pressure paid the price for eating what I could of the two slices. Do NOT recommend this particular Anthony's. For the money I would have been better off ordering from Pizza Hut or Papa Johns.
The only thing New York about this pizza is the lousy attitude. I ordered an 18 " pie with half sausage and green peppers and it had literally 8 pieces of sausage on the entire pie. When I called to express my disappointment their response was a 5% discount on my next purchase. That amount to a buck on a $20.00 pie. What a joke. Location University and Drycreek. Papa Murphys, Niccolos , Black Jack , even Totinos from King Soopers is a better choice.
Anthony's disappoints.
this is for Anthony's at Clinton so of Arapahoe.
Used to be my favorite pizza in Denver. However..... Ordered home delivery about two months ago, pizza arrived with way too much green pepper and it was more or less dumped on one side, crust was doughy - and it was cold. This for over $20.00!
Every one makes a mistake, so hoped that was all it was and wrote it off.
Ordered a small pepperoni pizza a few weeks ago for $20 plus. (no coupon) Arrived cold, doughy and about three slices of pepperoni. I am so disappointed! Used to love their pizza, but no more.
How far they have fallen. In 2007 and 2008 they had the best pizza in Denver, in my opinion. I went there today and was disgusted. The pizza was extremely greasy and the quality of the cheese and toppings were poor. Totino's offers a better pizza product.
Locally owned pie purveyor serves up basic, budget-friendly pizzas and pastas..
In Short
Local customers come here for standard-issue pizza. Clean booths and tables, walk-up counter service, self-serve drinks and plastic flatware. Pizzas come in thin- and thick-crust versions. Both are the fold-it-in-half, grease-dripping type so popular in the Big Apple. The eatery also serves up affordable plates of pasta, fresh Italian-style salads and daily specials that include calzones. Delivery can take over an hour, but the wait's usually worth it.
Yummy thin crust pizza!!. Usually don't care for pizza chains, so today was the first time I tried Anthony's....LOVED the pizza! Got the thin crust w/ my own toppings - meatball, tomato and mushrooms and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Esp loved the fresh tomatoes and really crispy crust. Will definitely be back! Went to the Stapleton restaurant & am looking for others near home.
Thx 4 the love. I can't speak for other stores but Downtown we pack house for 3 hours straight 11-2... lunch rush is crazy but we do our best while sweating over a 650 degree oven to bring you Denver's best Pizza. I wouldn't have worked there for over 10 years if I didn't love the smiles we put on our customers faces when they come in for their fix once, twice, three, sometimes five times a week. I may not know everyones name but I do know what they want when they walk through the door... We do our best to keep up with the volume of work but sometimes we don't have a chance to even clean up til after the rush dies down...sorry guys. I have eaten at Abos and Famous and I still say we take it. If your complaining about the customer service your probably the guy who relentlessly tried to take other peoples slices and finally got yelled at! Thx for the love Denver.
Nothing!!!!. I do not understand the hype? This is by far the worst franchise in town. Why does it get such high marks? Do not waist your money here. The place is a mess, the food is not that good and service is a joke. Denver is this the best pizza you can offer?
Ok pizza, poor customer service.
I hate calling Anthony's. They make me feel like they are doing me favor by taking my pizza order! Always rude on the phone.
I would never order from here again, if it wasn't for my boss, who loves their pizza...I don't get it.
Aviod!!!. The worst slice in town..The store was dirty. I will NEVER to any of thier locations. They got me once, but never again.
