The Falling Rock Tap House is a beer lover's paradise. With a revolving door of beers arranged by region and weight, The Tap House offers a selection paralleled by few other bars. But the libations are only half the fun. Check out the extensive menu of sandwiches, salads and sides.

Editorial Review for Falling Rock Tap House – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Falling Rock offers an impressive collection of beers on tap--75 in all--as well as a comfortable, old-school watering-hole atmosphere. Conversation, ale, a couch, food and a jukebox dominate the first floor. Downstairs, there's two pool tables and darts. Fries are a must--be sure to request the red-chili honey mustard for dipping. For something more substantial, try the tasty blackened bacon cheeseburger or the Philly cheese steak.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Falling Rock is the traditional gathering place for late-night partying during the Great American Beer Festival.

Parking

Bring quarters and park on the street (meters until 10pm). Don't park in the lot out front. It's a private lot and you will probably be towed.

On the Menu

The very hungry and truly brave should try the Elvis Presley Memorial combo--a half-pound of beef topped with bacon, American and Swiss cheese, a 1/3 pound of pastrami, onions, guacamole and mayo, served with onion rings and fries.

If you are in Denver and want to experience 70 or so taps from which to choose local, national and international craft beers (and many more bottles, particularly Belgians), then this is the place. If you want a margarita, a Bud Light, or a pitcher of Coors (all of which are fine if that's what you want), do NOT come here. This place is catered to those who are Beer Advocates. They also serve halfway decent pub grub at a good value (great Bison burgers). It is true, the service isn't always good, especially if the place is slammed, but if you are a local or try to order decent beers then you will probably be treated just fine. In fact i'm a regular and i'm treated very well, but i kinda had to work my way up to that. Some may not think that's right, but i think it was worth it because you can't get a better beer selection within 1000 miles of this place, and that is a true fact. Come to Falling Rock and try something you've never had before, your favorite type of beer may just be waiting for you there, even if you don't think you like beer!

Pros: Great beer selection, good pub grub, great place if you're even a semi-regular

Cons: Busy LoDo location is kind of a hassle

I have been here a couple of times and recieved horrible service! Then I had to meet some friends there so I went in expecting horrible service, I was very surprised when before I even walked in the door the waitress managed to offend me even more! I have heard from other people in the industry that you just have to know someone there. I can accept that to be treated very well, you need to know someone, but its nice to go somewhere and at least be treated in a civil manner!
