Fado Irish Pub

Great Irish Pub with Authentic Irish Fare, Guiness & Pub Grub Every Day

  • Live Irish Music
  • The Best Authentic Irish Food
  • Private Parties and Events

Fadó Irish Pub is located on Wynkoop between The Denver Chop House and Coors Field. This authentic Irish Pub was imported from Ireland, lock, stock & barrel. The interior is unmatched in Denver with beautiful wood furnishings, cobble stone floors and, of course, magnificent murals depicting scenes of Ireland. A great place to hang out and enjoy the best pint in Denver, and perhaps catch some traditional Irish music performed live on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

The Craic (Irish Art of Having Fun) is mighty when the music's going, or when one of the lads breaks into song, or when the banter is going on. The craic is mighty when the Irish are beating Holland on the big screen-- live only in Fadó, or when the lads from the Celtic Supporters club roll in at a ridiculously early hour looking like something the cat dragged in to watch Celtic beat Rangers again.

Editorial Review for Fado Irish Pub – by Marty Jones

In Short
This bar combines surreal Tolkienesque elements with typical Irish bar design elements. Lunch and dinner hours are aimed at eaters, while evenings are geared toward Guinness guzzling and boisterous conversation. The staff and clientele include Irish immigrants--not surprisingly, Fado is home to several local Irish social groups. The kitchen serves sandwiches, shepherd's pie, fish-and-chips and more. And of course, there are well-maintained kegs of Guinness, Irish whisky and single-malt scotches.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Every Monday features an open-mic show with talented singers, bagpipers and other Irish musicians.

The Extras

Fado features televisions carrying satellite feeds of football and rugby matches.

Know Before You Go

The food specialty is boxty, the equivalent of an Irish burrito. A potato pancake is wrapped around hearty fillings--from corned beef and cabbage to steak, salmon and chicken--then topped with a ladle of sauce.

The only good thing that I have to say is that I got a great story out of our night. We arrived at around 7 ish and had no problem finding a table, which happened to be a pub table - a little squished to the table next to it but really not a problem. We were informed after 9 pm that at 10 pm, the bar staff would be moving our table out to the patio (mind, it is February, and the only people on the patio are smokers). Since it was already decided for us that we would no longer have a table, we decided to get our tab (which was a pretty decent size, by that time - just the customers you want to ride out of your establishment, don't you think?) and go somewhere else. By the time we closed out, it was around 10 pm and I still had a little of my drink left, and I figured I payed for it so I was going to finish it. However, the bouncers came up and declared that they were taking our table at that moment. Talk about giving us the boot!! But here's the funny part. I was sitting on my chair (minus the table, mind you), finishing my drink and minding my own business, when the bouncers returned and declared that he was taking my chair as well!!! After asking why (he mumbled something to do with capacity limits or some bs like that) and asking why I couldn't finish the drink that I had paid for while sitting on the chair I had occupied for the last few hours in his establishment, AND asking why he could not take the EMPTY chair next to another table - I finally quit arguing and gave up (it was either that or laying him out on the floor!). Needless to say, I put my drink - with drink still left in it (and I don't waste alcohol) back on the bar and walked out. I DO NOT plan to return. Sad, but good story, huh?

Pros: If you like to have your chair demanded from you.

Cons: They take your chair away from you for no good reason.
