Tips for Spa Universaire

Life saving facial. a dear friend purchased a gift certificate for me to come to Spa Unjiversaire and receive a facial. I am in my late 60s and have never had a facial. I was greeted by Miss Betty who gave me a "around the world tour". She was enthusiastic and informative. Surely, she took pride in her work. The facial is my focus. I saw Oxana. After my initial consultation, she advised me to see a doctor about a spot on my nose. I took her seriously and the next time I had a check up I mentioned it. They did a biopsy and discovered it was cancerous. A slow growing cancer, but cancer. If I had not received the gift certificate, not seen Oxana, the cancer would have gone undiagnosed until it had spread thorughout my face. Thank-you Spa Universaire and Oxana for your expertise. This is not just a place to go and relax, the staff here is caring, consciensous, and well educated. For a treatment - go anywhere... For an experience - go to Spa Universaie.

All around exceptional experience. Okay, so I'm new to Denver which means finding all the essential spots is a trail and error procedure. Most of the staples are discovered rather painlessly, so you try a few bad lattes until you discover your favorite joint, or you're forced to suffer they agony of an inept yoga teacher until you stumble upon the studio that resonates. But as more and more places become solidified into your comfort zone, the undecided places, the acupuncturist, the tailor and yes, the masseuse. Determining these place can take years. But I'm delighted to say I've found the most overwhelmingly relaxing spa in the city. Look no further than Spa Universaire and if you're lucky, Jen. She is an unbelievably intuitive therapist, with amazing feel for the patient's needs. As far as the overall spa, incredibly professional, yet equally inviting and relaxing. As for the often mentioned, theme rooms. Initially, I had my reservations, they sort of stunned me whimsy. But as I got comfortable with the five senses immersion, I soon embraced the mountain room or the aztec indian room. I was ushered to the east indian room where Jen gave me the option of aromatherapy. It was empowering in a subtle sort of way to be given a choice in the matter. In fact, I believe the entire staff aim to slow you down, avoiding feeling rushed, to truly promote a relaxing experience. Often the expectation is to use the massage as the vehicle into a relaxing state, but at Spa Universaire, they instantly aim to ground you and slow you down. I'll go back again and again.

Terrible!. I went to Spa Universaire b/c a friend got me the Urbn Renewal package as a gift. It was such a treat and I was so excited. The package called for a facial and massage with an additional purchase of lunch paid by myself. It was disappointing from the start when they had me do the facial before lunch. This would mean the massage would come after lunch which is a massage basics no-no. Massages can disturb your digestion. The whole thing was counter-intuitive. Relax wiht a massage, eat, and clean your face up, right? Anyways, onto the rest. Ok, when they say 'themed' rooms (Eygptian room, mountain room, blah blah blah) all that means is that room has a wallpaper border in that theme. LOL. The rooms are also tiny, which didn't matter when I was stationary in a chair or on a table; but, when the person working on me had to maneuver aound the chair/table, it got uncomfortable. When I first arrived, I got naked and into a robe. Then I went to the 'waiting room', which is an awkward narrow space with benches and chairs reminiscent of my piano teacher's living room. Everyone just stared around knowing other naked-under-their-robe people are a foot away. During the facial I was told I had dry skin and needed a hydrating mask- I said no. I was also told I needed my brows done- I said no. The experience was ruined by up-sells. When it was time for lunch, my grand cuisine was a bunk-ass salad from Mad Greens and a dried dinner roll. I hid behind a screen eating in near darkness by the glow of a tea light. Employees went in and out of the laundry room which I was sitting next to. After lunch I got my massage which was very good, I must admit. Wish I could remember her name. On the way out the door they did try to push the Aveda products on me. I bought some sample sizes cause i'm a sucker like that. Even though it was free and had a good massage I would still declare this a bad experience overall.

Fantastic Massage - Teara is amazing. Warm, welcoming environment with an extremely accommodating staff. Teara intuitively knows where I'm stressed and uses a wonderful combination of soft, medium, and deep touch to get every knot out. My husband and I mostly do couples massages, and he has had both Jen and Lucy with exceptional results. I would highly recommend this spa for both the spa virgin and the experienced spa goer. My husband had never had a massage before and now he is truly addicted.

Jen is the best!. Jen Smallwood gave me one of the best massages of my life. My dog, Macaroni, and I are a bed bug inspection team and spend our days working in apartments, condos, hospitals, retirement communities, and homes. It's physical work and I get worn out. She asked me what I wanted for my massage and then delivered. Relaxing, quiet, and gentle ( I don't like deep tissue massages...they hurt) with special attention to my feet, legs and back. She immediately put me into a massage coma of delight. The atmosphere was wonderful and so peaceful. Jen was fantastic. I've had massages at some very fancy locations here in Denver, Hawaii, Bora Bora, and in Europe (Villa d'Este) and she gave the most wonderful massage of them all. When you want the very best Jen Smallwood at Spa Universaire is the only way to go.

Incredibly relaxing!. I absolutely loved my trip to this spa. My best friend and I wanted a facial and massage, and we were treated like gold. From the second you walk through the door, the staff makes you feel relaxed and very important. I HIGHLY highly recommend this spa, and I will definitely be returning!

For a great message, ask for Jen!. If you are wanting a great massage, then ask for Jen Smallwood. Jen is professional, easy to talk to, and excellent at what she does. She provides a calming and soothing environment before she begins her massage . She knows exactly what she is doing and where you need the most work on your body. I always leave one of Jen's sessions feeling stress free, comfortable, and relaxed. She is worth every dime spent and you will definitely feel amazing when she is finished.

Best Manicure and Pedicure on The Planet. I have had many manicures and pedicures in and out of the state. None of them hold a candle to the service that Rachel Barta gives you @ Spa Universaire. You owe it to yourself to experience her expertise, you won't be disappointed ! ! !

ERIC is a master. This spa is unassuming and pleasant. The therapy rooms are awesome and themed ....rocky mountain room, sahara, etc. But the reason I go here is because the massages are the best. Absolute best. I frequent spas and have had tons of massages. The best one I have ever had was here. Ask for Eric. He rocks.

Low key spa, great facials with Kristen. I regularly go to Spa Universaire for facials. Kristen Loersh does an amazing job. She takes great care of my skin, and has a great touch. I always feel like a million bucks after my facials. I like the spa overall - it's a small, simple spa which is easy to get into for a high quality services - even on short notice.
