Huge disappointment. This was my third
visit to the Parlour's downtown location and my second visit with the stylist named Dina. Wow, what a change from my first visit. Did I step in dog doo before I walked in. Or was it the impending snow that was causing her to rush out the door. Whatever the reason, she gave me a Supercuts style haircut, charged me $5 additional dollars than last time, didn't want to talk to me, and seemed annoyed that I was trying to strike up a conversation. I thought she was nice. Another condescending witch (did I mispell that last word) in sheep's closing. I'm really disappointed in the Parlour. Time to find a new salon.
Great experience. I went to this salon wanting a new fall look. Jacyln was very open to my ideas and was able to come up with something I would of never thought of on my own. Now I have a fabulous new haircut and color and feel very sleek. I was so satisfied that i have referred my friends and coworkers to her. If you are looking for a friendly, open minded and fantastic hairstylist go see her. Also the salon was relaxing and accommodating.
Disappointment. This is the second time i have given this salon a chance. I have long hair and request a simple trim with basic layering and walk out with a haircut I hate for the next 2 months. Jaclyn was very nice, but I was unhappy with the poor haircut she gave me.
VAN IS THE BEST FOR HAIRCUTS!!!!! :) :) :) :) :). I have spent over a year looking for a new stylist and I finally found a talented professional! There was plenty of on-street parking out front and the salon workers even helpfully reminded me to stock the meter. The gals at the reception desk were friendly and helpful and offered me a beverage straight away. As I had just had a laser peel, they were understanding and accomodating. I had a very brief wait for my stylist in a comfy and cozy yet somehow modern space. Looking around I saw that this salon was impeccably clean. Not a hairball to be found. Van soon appeared, though my appintment time was still 15 minutes away. He started the conversation with what I was looking for and we looked at a few pictures I had brought and agreed on what he should do with the cut today. (I have a lot of superfine hair and he really knew how to handle this hair type) His assistant gave a very soothing wash and detangler with a scalp massage that was absolutely divine! Van has a very professional yet upbeat demeanour and a great flair for hair cutting. (no gossipy drama here) He noticed all of the quirks of my hair without me having to point out each and every one. My hair cut came out PERFECT!!! I can take off my bike helmet and it still looks great plus it really looks phenomenol when I actually do something with it. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW A FABULOUS HAIRCUT IS SUPPOSED TO PERFORM!!! :) My hats off to you, Van. I will be sending everyone I know your way! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! (Under-priced for this level of skill!!! )
Best Salon in Denver!. The reason the Parlour is so good is because they train/educate ALL of their stylist for an entire year in an apprentice program before they are ever allowed to even touch a client. Any stylist doing hair there has graduated a pretty hardcore education program and proven themselves to the master stylists. I went to Felicia and I could tell that she really, really cared about making me happy and giving me what I ask for, but also made great suggestions and gave me a beautiful cut. I got a glass of wine and she even had the front desk run and get me a sandwich from the restaurant next door when I mentioned I was hungry! PLUS a scalp massage, style, and my meter fed for me! All or a $31.00 haircut? Oh--and a lot of people complain about the parking there. The first visit or two, it can be daunting but it gets easier and faster the more you go there. Plus, once you get into the Parlour, they (the employees there) run out and feed your meter for you so you don't have to worry about it! Just arrive a good 15 minutes earlier to find some parking and bring your quarters. It's not that bad, really. Worth the trouble for a high quality salon that provides clients with highly trained stylists.
Love the Parlour. Van is my stylist, he's great. (downtown location) I recently moved and plan to start going to the Boulder location. The atmosphere is really nice, open and relaxing, unless all the stylists are working and then it's really loud, but that's true of most salons. I really like supporting the Parlour b/c they offer their employees full benefits. I'm sure they still work on commission, but Van has never rushed through a cut to get to another customer. My cut and style is $65, which I think is a decent price. Considering it takes an hour, and it's a fantastic cut, definitely worth it. Whenever the price goes up, he gives me one more cut at the old price. I think that's pretty good customer service. His shampoo assistant (Katie Lou?) is really great too. Good head massages during the shampoo and she once gave me a student training cut for $10 (not bad for a trainee). Parking is not that difficult, even if it is downtown. There are plenty of meters on every block for miles around or you can pay $8 to park in a lot.
Ask For Katina. Katina is FANTASTIC! I have long straight hair, she highlighted and cut it to my exact specs - I love the cut and color so much I came in from out of town to have her do my hair! Thanks Katina!
Best place in town!. I've been going to Jen for a little over a year now - she's fantastic! Her highlights are amazing. Great atmosphere and super friendly people working there.
Molly saves the day!. I got an emergancy appointment with Molly to try and fix a botched job done at a different salon. She was increadibly perfessional and skilled. I am so pleased with the result that I almost forgot why I was there in the first place. Thank you Molly!
Service, design, and individual attention - the Parlour has it all. I've been going to the Parlour for years - I started at the one in Fort Collins and then came to the LoDo location on the advice of a friend who saw Phil. I also had my hair styled at their Stanley Hotel location in Estes for a friend's wedding. I'm now going to the Highlands location because that's where Phil is, and am always impressed everytime I leave. Not only is the interior design gorgeous at the new location, but everyone there is extremely friendly and helpful. I'd recommend any of the Parlour locations to anyone who wants individual attention and great hair.
