In Short – Though this place used to feature open jam sessions for jazz musicians, today the bar eschews live music for a jukebox, and the crowd is decidedly more trendy and clothing conscious. The menu serves up standard American fare. The blackened catfish is easily the highlight, served with a Cajun spice that accents the fish surprisingly well, without overpowering it. The fish and chips are a little greasy; the burgers are best when ordered medium-rare.
The Hornet "Gangster Wrap"
by jkoz at Citysearch
The Gangster Wrap was listed as one of the top 100 must eat dishes in Denver, so I got it and reviewed it:
A cold sandwich or wrap can only go so far with me. And including bacon is a great start. In the end, it was tasty, but when I look at that list of promising ingredients (bacon, cheese, green chili, avocado, turkey), it was a case where the whole was less than the sum of its parts. It’s a good dish, however, and one of the better cold wraps I’ve had in a long time.

Ultimate Brunch in Denv-ah!
by Suzenator at Citysearch
My friends and I the Hornet for the ultimate Sunday Brunch. There is never a wait for a great high-top bar table and the staff is so cool. Often, we spend 3 hours drinking and hanging out with people who come and go. Our server or bartender is always cool with us. The Sunday bartender serves up the best mimosas in the city and the Bloody Bar rocks...both drinks are only $2. The inexpensive and satisfying menu satisfies both breakfast and lunch cravings- eggs+bacon or a great sandwich.
Check out the Hornet for a relaxed and fun brunch. Bring a new magazine and call your girlfriends for the perfect beginning to a Sunday Funday!
