Doesn't exist. Please delete this. It has been gone for many years. wtf omg bbq. This restaurant was terrible. Plus it doesn't exist. Hasn't for years. Do NOT go to the stupid idiot walnut cafe.

Try the Super Chef, same location. Good mexican food, nice old signage.

I am mourning this place!. As long as you got there before the church crowd descended like locusts, you could get a table fairly quickly. The staff was fantastic, the food was tasty and reasonable, and I liked the atmosphere.

-Dozens is owned by a bitchy guy who hates kids (he told us directly they were trying NOT to make it family friendly); not a good substitute. Long wait for table, but has pretty good food.

-Mona's is very good and the staff is quite nice, but it's more upscale and expensive than the Walnut was.

-The Eggshell is cheap and tasty with nice staff, but the atmosphere isn't the same as the Walnut- where are the heavily tatted and seemingly hung over yet very attentive waitresses?

Sooooo sad it's gone. :-(

No Longer Exists!. 338 E Colfax is now a Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure if it's good, we were looking for a breakfast place. We found Dozen's which is nearby on 13th and Cherokee and it was great!

Tasty Breakfast + Fun People. Walnut Cafe is a great breakfast near the capital (off of Colfax and Walnut). The restaurant is small and on the weekends, there is always a wait for a table, with nowhere to stand or sit, but the food is worth it. The frequently changing specials are always good and the wait staff always works hard to take care of you. The location is great for people-watching. Parking can be a challenge if you have to drive (parking is mostly on-street; several churches nearby make parking on Sunday mornings a challenge).

My secret is out. Eggs Marcos is great! I have tried a few other items, but keep coming back to this one. Lots of food with a large selection of sides.

Yum. Great breakfast. Great big breakfast. You get a ton of sides. The scrambles are great.

It can get very crowded on a weekend morning, but it's worth the wait.
