Always good.. This is a great place to bring people from out of town. Excellent food in a fun neighborhood.
Excellent food, service could be warmed up a bit.. When I meet my Park Hill friends at an in between place we often go to Ave Grill. Meals are really heavy and that’s a good thing for most people. My favorite is the Caesar salad with salmon. Wine list is excellent, but on the high side. No apologies….I’m thrifty. But when you dine out 4 nights a week, you tend to expect more. I love the ambiance. It’s swank and warm, but not Brown Palace swank. The Brown in on the stuffy side. Perfect for a date, business meeting or just for the hell of it. Great people watching place at lunch time or on a Friday.…
My Constant.
This has been my 'go to' place for years now! I'll go here for nice dinners, casual weekend lunches, or for a much needed happy hour! Their food is delicious and their martinis are making my mouth
water just thinking about them. Friendly staff - from the Managers to the bussers, I've never had an issue with service. For those of you that think this place might be too expensive or too "fancy" - just try it out... think San Francisco Bistro, with a Denver attitude.
If you haven't hit happy hour here yet, do it. $5 select martinis, small plates & small dessert portions are perfect for your belly and wallet. Dillon or Jonas behind the bar makes for a great evening. Trust me.…
For a nice relaxed and sophisticated dining experience check out Ave. Grill. The Avenue Grill in down town Denver is a sweet little get away. With it's low lights, quiet atmosphere and very helpful and polite staff it made for a remantic dinner. The menu is fairly limited, but the food is excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly, and my husband said the scallops were devine.…
Super dependable with many regulars. It's a good default when you want a cozy window view and glass of wine!.
I've been going for over ten years. Lunch or dinner. Both dependable. Only complaint is dishes can be over-sauced and too much butter, but just speak up they will accomodate. Great atmosphere.
You can almost always get a window seat and if you're alone, it's even more recommended. Sometimes I feel a bit out of place dinning alone. But here it's very zen to sit with a glass of wine and read or people watch.
Super fresh salads, service is not always the best, but I've never had a serious complaint, or if you know what I mean....really been mistreated.
I would recommend this place for a date with friends, spouse, or even a romantic evening. Kids would fit in just fine, I've just never seen any. It can get loud but not so loud that you can't converse. They have a great sparkling wine by the glass.
Parking is no problem. There's a lot on the north side of 17th.
PS.....Chocolatte bread pudding is a small portion and nice way to end the meal.…
