Less than sanitary, hardly any meat
by jamielynn240
I am frequent vistor of the spicy pickle on 10th and Lincoln and today was by far ridiculous. I order my food to go, Double -Dillo-whatever half South Side with no tomatoes and chicken noodle soup. I have a seat and wait. Only one other customer and I were waiting for food to go. Everything was fine, I was watching the Ohio game and I noticed one the employees (someone being trained I believe) walk out the front entrance around the side with what I believe was a cigarett in his hand. I look over at the kitchen and I see two sandwiches to go just sitting there. Employees walking around all over not paying attention. It wasn't until a few minutes after the employee who went outside to smoke came back in, DIDN'T WASH HIS HANDS, started pouring my soup, picked up the sandwich, which had been sitting there 5 minutes and put it in a bag. Ugh! I am disgusted and cannot believe I watched this. Then I get home and my sandwich has tomatoes. Imagine that! I didn't eat my soup, what a waste of money. Get it together guys.
- Pros: Normally ok
- Cons: unsanitary, hardly any meat
Excellent subs!
by true_refinement
I heard of this place from an aquaitance and when I finally went and had a veggie lovers sub with a myriad of vegetables, fresh bread and savory mayo flavors, I became a fan instantly! I'm a veggetarian and finding good sub shops with great variety for vegetarians is a hit or mis but Spicy Pickle is a big hit! More expensive than Subways but then again it's ABOVE Subways, hence well worth it! For you healthy eaters out there, you don't know what you're missing!
- Pros: quality, flavor, customer service
NICE TO HAVE CHOICES
by mrawalk
Thank goodness that the Spicy Pickle sub shop is around. We need a place that takes their food serious and takes pride in their service. A little hit or miss on their food portioning but it always tastes great! The staff is friendly and always willing to help. I love their bread and it's nice to be able to build my ideal sandwich from over 20 toppings. They need to open more stores down south is the only complaint that I have really.
- Pros: food, service, cleanliness
- Cons: portions
