Jazz, blues and a not-too-trendy scene makes one of LoDo's oldest surviving pubs a Denver institution..
In Short
Herb's is one of the only authentic dive bars in the trendy LoDo entertainment district, and what keeps people coming back is cheap drinks and a diverse clientele. The crowd ranges from blue collars to beautiful people fed up with lines at trendier spots. The resulting culture clash provides for some intriguing (and a bit alluring) friction. There's also local music: Some of Denver's better jazz and blues performers play most nights of the week.
Awesome Music, Drinks, Patio - All around great Atmosphere.
I love this place, everytime I go the people are fun, the bands are great, and the bartenders are having a great time. Last time I went the food on the back patio was awesome, BBQ anything and everything with a great chef Pat, who knows how to keep you going after you've maybe had too many.
I recommend this place to everyone who is down for a fun, adventurous evening.
Good-Time Lover. Besides excellent music and very amicable atmosphere they recently have stated to serve excellent patio food. The menu includes brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, sausages and more. Excellent quality, friendly service and very reasonable prices. Way to go guys!!
Herb's Jazz & Blues Bar. Tuesday nights features Pat Bianchi on Hammond B3 organ. Pat is arguably the best B3 player alive today. Monday's has the 19 piece Denver Jazz Orchestra and Friday's and Saturday's have a wide variety of jazz and blues groups.
Hideout Hidden too Long. New owners took over in early 2002 and have made this one of the primere music venues in the city. There is a small cover on some of the busier nights. Monday has a jazz big band.
