4th time maybe a charm.
This was our third time at the petes on Colfax within a 3 week period, food is great and the service has been great up until tonight. Our waitress was rude and slow, her attitude was less to be desired and you could tell it was affecting not only the other people working but other customers. The couple behind us even moved so the other waitress (who was nice) could wait on them. Sorry when you are in this industry you need to serve people and put on your smile. We will continue to go back but if she is our waitress I will ask to be moved.
I rate the food very good, service not so much
OH YEAH!.
Maybe it was because it was late night and I was hungry, but after the bars close, PETE's is the palce to chow.
Actually I've been here during daylight and its always just as good.
Super fast.
I ordered by breakfast and practically got it before I was done talking to my friends.
The atmosphere feels a little cramped, but the place is packed too.
Hot fresh food....YUM
I want this in my hometown. Truly unbelievable breakfast joint. Not just breakfast, but breakfast at all hours. The breakfast burrito is hands down the best I ever had. This place is a money making machine because it works. Great people there, Cool waitresses, crazy people, nuts people, good people. Great food, good time, good fun. I think most breakfast joints miss the fact that Gyro meat in breakfast food is the best thing since bloody mary's with beer chasers at breakfast. Actually, that is the only thing Pete's desperately needs.
This is the "IN" place to go after a night in "D"-Town. Always great service, and inexpensive food after a night downtown! Great anytime before or after! Location is easy to find...A+ experiences!
A Denver Tradition. Just a shout out to one of the best diners in the USA! I have breakfast there a couple of times a month and I am reminded that I've been eating there for over 30 years and never had a bad meal! Always great, friendly service, good wholesome food, great prices; what more can you ask? Maybe the location and atmosphere aren't for everyone, but it is a Denver Landmark in a true sense. If it ever disappears I'll be way sad.
Not my first choice..
First thing: Pete's parking lot is dark and I have been approached by men a few times and it was as scary as it was downright annoying.
The small diner gets super crowded and is a "seat yourself" (if you even find a seat). The tables are always dirty as if they wipe the tables down with the same greasey rag for days. The waitress doesn't have to bring you menus or silverware, it's all at your table which really, all she does is bring your food. Not really earning a full tip (We don't tip McDonald's employees for taking our orders and giving our food to us.)
The fries are super greasey and sometimes are a bit burned. The food doesn't really have a great taste, very bland. The only plus is that they service gyro.
The crowd that goes in are "cool" scene kids, college kids, and drunks. Real lame crowd. A bunch of evesdroppers.
It gets packed after bars let out and is not worth the wait outside. Head to Tom's or Breakfast King.
Are you serious??. Whoah, I can't believe this rat trap is still in business. Never, never, never, never ever go here. Ick, I had to walk out!
Filthy, rude and disgusting.
The first thing I noticed when I sat down was the filth. The menu had sticky sauce ALL OVER IT. There were crumbs, dust and greasy goo all over my table. And when I asked for a clean menu, I was rudely told there were no more menus available. The server didnt even offer to clean my menu. There clearly were plenty of menus on all of the other empty tables.
So I ordered my food, and then saw the cook in the kitchen. He was scratching his thick beard while he was cooking, and then clearly touched the bare food without washing his hands. I decided to leave as I couldn't possibly eat any food at this point. What did I get on the way out? Hassle and attitude from the hostess, who was also apparently a manager. Don't go here unless you want a gut wrenching case of gastrointestinal disease.
