Situated on the edge of the Cherry Creek shopping district, this traditional Chinese diner serves fresh, cheap, consistently good Oriental food.. The Scene


It's a diner with a big screen tv. Usually not very crowded (they do a big take-out business). Language is sometimes a barrier, but the kitchen is happy to prepare dishes to order.





The Food
The extensive menu offers all the usuals (soups, eggrolls, chow mein, fried rice, beef, pork, chicken, vegetarian and seafood dishes, as well as tempuras and noodle bowls). The hot and sour soup is outstanding. Known to cure a cold instantly (or at least alleviate some symptoms). Skip the eggrolls and move right into the entrees. Most dishes come with a surprising amount of fresh vegetables. For example, kung pao shrimp hits the normal bases (spicy and with peanuts) but is also prepared with lots of bok choy and broccoli. House specials are worth trying: the chicken with fresh ginger and crunchy string beans is full of freshness and flavor.

Carry Out Heaven. We carry out here about once a week. My favorite is the Singapore Rice Noodles, with chicken, pork and shrimp and the combo fried rice. Awesome wonton soup. Half orders available for $3-4. Get several. I hope this place stays in business forever.
