Not my kind of thai. What's the deal with Thai food in Denver? I've tried 4 different places and they were all lackluster in their pad thai - too saucy, yellowish-orange colored gook is different than any other city I've eaten thai at. I've found an early warning sign - if the menu has a chinese section it's going to suck.

Nice to have a choice. I'm a fan of Thai Basil but every now and again go over to Tommy's instead. The ambience is totally different and I can get glass noodles, which I love. So, the space is very urban, which is great, except that the din of your fellow diners makes it very hard to hear over your own table. Whoever built it wasn't thinking of the acoustics. The food is quickly served, fresh and very good. I like the variety and think the prices are generally reasonable. LOVE the green tea ice cream but wish they would sometimes have some specials on the Singha. If you are in the neighborhood, it's worth checking out.

Hair of the dog?. I've always been a fan of Tommy's. But today not only was I charged for a dish i found a HAIR in, but their lunch portions have gone from decent to pathetic. Got the vegetables in garlic sauce today. When the hairLESS dish was delivered, I was less than stoked on the pound of rice served with the few veggies making up my plate. Been loyal. Will never go back. Goodbye Tommy's Thai.

A Cap Hill Standard Not To Be Missed. A legendary (and one of the very first) Thai restaurants in Denver. The introduced us to the cuisine and many followed in their ways! (for better and worse!)

Nice balance of price and product.

Great lunch spot!

great place for Thai. great place for Thai food, i really like it. Interestingly, the Thai chilli can get really hot. I love this hotness in food normally, but this is just crazy!

Tommy's Thai is Good Value Received. My partner and I order regularly from Tommy's Thai. I will say, having lived here since 1997, the food has gone up and it's gone down. All agree to that. Sadly, I've seen the prices rise steadily above quality. The economy is not the best, and it's impacting small businesses like Tommy's. For example, we often order the drunken noodles with beef, medium spicy. Lots of filler veggies have been added to this once-distinct dish. Here, I am speaking as a regular delivery customer...

Dining in the restaurant, one gets a slightly beter experience. Yes, the service seems at times a bit distracted (with what, I know not). The kitchen often seems so busy and cantankerous, one wishes not to offfend the chef. That aside, eating there is what it is: a small restaurant with lower (than average) prices.

What can you expect at a $ rating level? We have to reconcile expectations with what we put up to meet those expectations.

Have you ever eaten at Pok Pok in Portland, OR? What a different Thai experience, all around. But, remember, we're in Denver, Coloado, the land of beef, the cowboy, and do-as-you-wish ways of being.

Awesome!. Tommy's Thai was tasty as all hell. And prompt too!reminded me of being in thailand last year - i was there with my girlfriend and she really enjoyed it oo. i am in to music, and love led zeplin, and this place is the zeplin of places to be in denver

Old Favorite Continues to Shine. I've been eating at Tommy's now for 15 years and can say that they are as good now as they were back in the 90's. Their customer service is polite and quick not an easy task when you see how crowded they can get. The blinking light is a great way of letting customers know that they are taking a phone order (a huge part of their business). I used to live a mile away in the 90's and would have to wait up to 1.5 hours for a delivery when they were busy. Now I live in the burbs but still make the trek to Tommy's a few times a month for my authentic Thai fix (this is NOT fusion food). The food is consistently tasty and it still amazes me how they can keep their prices so low. Some of my favorite dishes (I've tried them all) are: stuffed chicken wings, tod mun pla (amazing!), tom ka gai, pad lad na and pad se yew. Their pad thai is always awesome but I suggest branching out and trying something else!

Best Thai and great service.. Recently ate at Tommy's with a European buddy and we found the food and service to be top shelf. I ate the royal chicken and he ate a curry dish. The egg rolls were very large, unlike the "tacquito shaped style" at some restaurants. Because the cooks come from Thailand this adds to authenticy of the food. We read Citysearch comments for the first time and were preplexed by the 1 and 2 stars. Apparently there is a lot of confusion with Asian fusion and authentic cuisine. We both agreed that the parking lot is tiny but try to go to a restaurant in LO-DO. All in all a great restaurant. Many of my fellow Viet Nam buddies go there for sentimental reasons. Reliving the R&R days in Bangkok.

Not so great. The place looks nice inside, and the decor is modern. The food however leaves a lot to be desired. While the eggrolls are really big, they are way over-fried. The satay chicken had so much sauce on it that it was hard to see the meat underneath, and....sauce was not great. The tin cups try to convey "hip" but they really convey "unsanitary" and "old". Parking lot is tiny. Service was friendly. They need to work on getting better food out to the table.
