Good food, good service, good price..
Rodney's is a great lunch spot if you're already in the Cherry Creek neighborhood - but it's definitely not a destination restaurant for outsiders. Parking is terrible around Rodney's and it's not the easiest place to find as it's nestled underground with very little signage.
Enjoy the $4.99 lunch special - Burger or Dog, fries and a drink! The meatloaf sandwich is also good.
RODNEY IS RUDE.
RODNEY IS A RUDE MAN!!!
I tried to contact Rodney for a charity event I was participating in Walk for a Cure for Juvenile Diabetes, I have a very close connection with this disease my daughter was diagnosed with it right after her first Birthday. I called Rodney because I was having tee-shirts made for our walking team and I wanted to advertise local businesses on our shirts. I tried contacting Rodney at 11:00am and was told I could get him at the Cherry Creek location, I called that location the employee told me to call Rodney at 6:00pm, which I did. I started to explain why I was calling and right in the middle of it he yelled "WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME IN THE EVENING THIS IS A RESTAURANT"!! I tried to explain that his employee told me to call him at that time. He told me I should have called that morning, which I explained I did try to. I apologized and he slammed the phone down! I understand that at a restaurant it is very busy at dinner time but I just did what I was told. All he had to say was this is not a good time can you call me at another time? That would be the professional way to handle it. I have owned my own business before and let me tell you that is no way to treat people if you want their business. I have eaten at Rodneys before (Castle Pines and Cherry Creek) but stopped eating at the Castle PInes location after being told by a chef that had worked there before that the kitchen was filthy! RODNEY YOU ARE A RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, PATHETIC MAN AND YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING AROUND THE PUBLIC!!! I would like to thank the local businesses in the Castle Rock area who supported a great cause. And to the other businesses who couldn't donate, I thank you for being professional and considerate when I called you after all, that is what a small community is all about. Don't worry Rodney, in the future I won't be contacting you for support for a good cause, I will be contacting businesses that actually have class!!
You are supposed to review the restaurant not the generosity of the owner. Sounds like you didn't even eat there and still gave it one star. Maybe Rodney would have been more receptive if you were actually a customer instead of just a solicitor.
Restaurant owners get solicited for thousands of causes sometimes by professional fund raisers who get a cut. How can this owner tell the difference.
Skip the great steak escape for a real steak sandwich.
I was introduced to Rodney's by a friend who's been going here for over 15 years. She raved about how good the food was and how good the service was. If you go to the location in Cherry Creek, you can probably see Rodney around the bar. But the food is good at both locations.
I don't know about the bar, but I love the food there. They have a huge steak sandwich that won't leave you room for much else. The steak sandwich isn't a bunch of strips of beef, but an actual steak on a roll. It was cooked perfect to order too, medium rare. The coconut shrimp have a nice crunch without being over cooked.
Rodney's for both Old Guard and New Age Diners.... ...and drinkers. Everyone is welcome and comfortable here, and the staff lets you know they appreciate your patronage. The steaks are incredibly good, and will be cooked to your specifications without chef-snobbery. Want it blackened, Cajun style? It will be done, very well, and still tender as can be. The baked potato with sour cream and bacon bits is a swell accompaniment, and comes with the dinner. So does a vegetable and a salad--try the bleu cheese dressing; Rodney's recipe is really superb. Sick of nouvelle cuisine and changes for the worse? Go to Rodney's, a classy hideaway that is consistently good, after all these years.
Best steak for the price in Denver. If you enjoy a good New York strip, try Rodney's. Tender and flavorful and inexpensive and sides are included. Try to find that anywhere else. The valet parking is a plus given the Cherry Creek location. Service is friendly and attentive, drinks are ample, and the price is right. If you don't want to break the bank, try this place.
Rodney's review. This place is ok... nothing to really write home about. It's hard to find parking around there. The food is decent and the drinks are ok as well. There are several other places in Cherry Creek that I'd rather go.
