Denver >Milwaukee St Tavern
Lunch is cheep. Had a chef salad for $4.95 during the week, all the fixings , and there is free parking which is a bonus in the Creek. Good beer list w/lots of Colorado crafts and $3 dollar deals, will be back.
the manager was so rude.. i just came home from Milwaukee street tavern. I enjoyed the food. Service was decent. UNTIL, it became time to pay for my check. I was with a party of 6, so when the waitress came to ask us how our food was, I KINDLY asked her to split the check and when she expressed her disappointment in splitting the check, i apologized knowing that this was an inconvenience. She then proceeded to go mock me to her manager. When she returned to give us our change, everybody in my party had incorrect change. I summoned the manager to explain the situation. "John Kelly" or "John Yohannson" as he told me his name was, was then extremely rude. I took his name and told him that i was very underwhelemed by the experience at his resteraunt. He THEN showed me the door, told me to "walk through it, drop dead, and go f**k myself." I, and all my friends are under 18 years old and this manager was pushing 50.
Best Buffalo Burger in Cherry Creek. look no further... this is the best buffalo burger by far in the area. try it with mushrooms and white cheese......
Great place to watch whatever you want.. Some friends and I were looking for a place to watch the presidential debate and someone suggested the Milwaukee st Tavern. I was skeptical at best about watching a debate in a "sports bar" on a friday night but I tagged along anyway. We were greeted at the door with a friendly smile and told to sit wherevere we were comfortable. When I asked about the debates I was told they were hosting a debate party and just about every tv would be tuned in. Channel 9 had a camera there and were doing interviews with guests and staff. "Great, this is gonna be a zoo", I thought. Our server was very friendly and seemed to be enjoying the crowded atmosphere. We ordered some drinks off the martini list and a few beers from a very eclectic menu and settled in for the night. Amazingly the second the debate started you could hear a pin drop. The experience was fantastic. The triple decker club sandwich was excellent and the burger was as good as any I can remember. Good food, good drinks, solid service and a bar crowd that cares about politics. I will definitely be back.
Good place to drink and watch sports, OK place to eat.. This is a nice sportsbar to watch games. They have a ton of tvs with MLB and NFL packages. The drink prices are a bit steep compared to similar local bars, but they usually have some decent beer specials. The food isn't quite as good as Cherry Cricket or Cherry Creek Grill (but as good, if not better than Choppers), which is why I don't give it 5 stars. The best thing about this place is the vast quantity of high definition TVs and a staff willing to let you watch whatever game you want, which is great for out of market games. Plus, the patrons are more down to earth and less intense than the j-offs at Choppers who think their masclulinity is measured by how many Broncos statistics they can memorize.
Good when very slow, otherwise skip it.. I dined here twice for lunch in March 2007 at approx. 11:30 a.m. and early in the week. Food and service were solid then. On my recommendation, friends and I dined here at about 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday. Mistake. It was not overly crowed as approx. 8-10 tables remained available. Menus and drinks arrived quickly. Twenty two minutes passed before the waitress would stop to take our order. It was unclear why she avoided us. It took 35 minutes to receive sandwiches/meals, no special requests, nothing cooked well done. The bacon burger didn?t have any bacon, the bun was right from a bag, not heated, not toasted, and the fries were under cooked. The cooks floundered on a basic burger. The other meals were skimpy this time. The waitress was always attentive so what seemed to be a waitress problem initially seems more likely to be a kitchen problem. Maybe she was dragging her feet to buy the kitchen some time. Short staffed kitchen, inexperienced or inept cooks, the problem is unclear. My friends won?t return and I am a doubtful unless it?s an early lunch early in the week. Go elsewhere for a good burger. The Sunday eve staff blew it. What a shame.
Bowl, imbibe, eat on the cheap and catch all the sports scores at this convivial Cherry Creek gathering place..
Touting enough televisions to outfit a Best Buy, this dimly lit downstairs tavern appeals to sports fans glued to the tube. When the screen gets boring, there's a mini bowling alley, pool tables, and video games. Visitors can take a seat at the bar and down a pint while chomping down a cheesesteak sandwich, burger, buffalo quesadilla or macaroni and cheese--all of which pay homage to the cheeses of Wisconsin.
