Editorial Review for Cheesman Park – by Kelley Grant
In Short
A former city cemetery, this park was designed in tribute to a famous drive in Berlin. As one explores the 80-acre area, it's easy to imagine the gold rush history behind the grounds and many of the nearby Capitol Hill mansions. The park is convenient to LoDo, Cherry Creek and nearby bike trails. The central location makes it a diverse community gathering place, especially when free concerts are offered during the spring and summer.

This park is a beautiful place to watch the squirrels play and scurry to the next tree or wait with crackers in hand for them to come to you. It is a great place to take a short or long walk. But if you're skiddish, don't go in very warm weather because the laws allow going topless. That's all I saw when I was there, but I didn't frequent the park on a regular basis. The park is beautiful in itself, what other people make of it should not distract from the beauty of nature and of what man has tried to maintain. If two or more people try to tear down from what others have built up, I think they should suffer conquences.
Pros: Peaceful
Cons: Hard to find a parking spot if crowded with people.

Great dog park, and also for jogging. Supposedly the location inspired the film "Poltergeist", due to the fact the are was a large graveyard that had residential spaces built upon it. Also, this is where many "alternative lifestyle" males go to sow their oats. If you can manage to ignore that, it is by far one of the nicest parks in Denver!
