Editorial Review for Rain Spa Bodyworks – by Ephraim Mallery
In Short
The spa is set back from the street on the east end of Cherry Creek North. Once inside, the subtle decor and relaxing colors put visitors at ease. Therapists here are trained in multiple methodologies, utilizing water treatments, aromatherapy and a thorough knowledge of the body. Services range from manicures, scrubs and wraps to the Vichy shower treatment, which provides steam therapy and fresh-water cleansing while the customer lies relaxed on the table.

I read with some interest the review which appeared in Citysearch on March 8, 2008, posted by “fargo1234". I found this interesting because I was a client of Rain Spa on the date in question, March 8, 2008. After reading the review, I wondered if these young women had indeed been at the same place as I. Then I remembered the women coming in and accepting the hospitality offered by Rain Spa, including the various teas, fresh squeezed orange juice, and the pastries. I was there for over an hour enjoying the peace, quiet and tranquility of the facility. I was first introduced to Rain Spa via a gift certificate I received over three years ago. I have been using the services ever since, have referred several clients and have given gift certificates to others without question or hesitation, and will continue doing so. The facilities have always been spotless - inside and out. I hope that fargo1234's ruthless and unfounded review gets little notice as it is deserving of none, and should be put in the trashcan...

Day at the SPA...more like day at the ZOO. I had 4 friends visiting from out of state and I was embarrassed that this was ranked as one of "Denver's best spas". When we walked into Rain Spa we thought we were in the wrong location based on their website. First of all the facility was absolutely disgusting, dirty, clutter everywhere, out-dated equipment, and the employees were dressed extremely unprofesional. With our first impression, none of us even wanted to go into the rooms. We contemplated cancelling our appointments, and had it not been for the 1/2 price charge we would have. Once inside the treatment rooms there was no relaxation involved. Rooms were in the basement small, cramped, some didn't have doors and the walls didn't touch the ceilings so you could hear the services going on around you and the people upstairs. My friend's massage, facial, and pedicure were all interrupted at one point or another. The owner, even took a call from a complaining client which led to only one foot get messaged and scrubbed. At the end of my pedicure she wrapped my feet in plastic bags promising me it would keep my polish from smearing. Once I removed the plastic bag I realized her "little trick" hadn't work and my polish was smeared all over my feet. I called to get a partial refund and I was told it was unfair to them because we didn't tip them enough. The prices are comparible to four star spas. The robes provided had holes in the butt, were tattered and you had to sit in the front lobby while wearing them. We were required to wait up to an hour between services. They were extremely undetstaffed. There were two of us in pedicure chairs while the employee went back in forth to each of us during the service. This Spa practices false advertising, and should not even be called a spa. We were there for 5 hours, for services that should have taken three or less. Needless to say, it was not the relaxing day with the girls that I had hoped it would be.
Pros: Location
Cons: Atmosphere, Cleanliness, Professionalism, Comfort, Skill Level, Prices
