Denver >Roo Bar
Shaddy Staff!!!. So we drove up from Pueblo and had lunch here before a Rockies game. 2 days later I realized I lost my debit card and looked online. I realized my card had been used here at 3am, hmmmm who is drinking at that time? I called there and spoke with a "manager" who was drunk asking me me how I know the card was used there! Um, becuase it shows where i use my card!!! Said I had to just deal with it and there is nothing I can do! WOW, I don't get to denver a lot, but I sure as hell know who has shaddy actions and where to not go!!!
Roo Bar is AWESOME!.
Each time I have hung out at this bar, everything has been exceptional. It is the service that stands out for me. Each of the wait staff has something unique to offer the patrons. It is the African American, warmly known as Carla, that someone had commented about earlier that I would like to address.
Each time I show up, Carla's amazing smile greets me. When I ask her how she is doing, she gives me a real answer and treats me like a real human being. Her service is efficient and in of her ability to multi-task leaves me in awe. This bar is often packed with people and while putting up with rude drunks, people hitting on her, people yelling orders at her, I have noticed the high integrity in which she remains. She is not only a hard worker, but a kind woman. The person who wrote this review has obviously NO idea what they are talking about.
Fun. Food. Mm, Mm, Good!.
I've become a regular at the new Roo, and have hardly a bad word about it. The staff have always been friendly, speedy, and can pour a stiff drink! (The way I like it...) The crack wings and spinach pizza are ah-may-zing...!! My overall favorites!
They have a great jukebox with tons of punk rock, (Bad Brains and the Dead Kennedys!) but there is stuff for everyone else as well :) Two great purple felt pool tables... Ms. Pacman... what more can you ask for?
I've never had a bad experience and would recommend it to anyone...
It should never go out of business... (crazy people!!)
See you there~
The New Roo, different than the old but still Fantastic!. This place has it all. Great Food and every bar game you could want.. Shuffle board and golden tee of course. They have a fantastic staff that bust their tails and take great care of the customers. Very eclectic crowd, never know what you're going to get. But the regulars are treated like family members. Very different than the old space that was underground with no windows or sign. Now there are plenty of windows and more TV's. Great place to meet and watch the games or car pool to Av's, Nugs, or Bronco games. Walking distance to Coor's field and if you have lunch or some drinks they will let you park your car for free while you go to the ball park. That is the best part is lots of FREE parking. Unheard of that close to downtown. Do yourself a favor and try the pizza and the wings.
The best service I've ever had!. I have been in here many times when Carla(previously refered to as the young African American girl) was working and was treated excellent. She knows the meaning of customer service and does a great job! I've been there on a couple occasions when the bar was very busy and never had any problems with any of the bartenders but least of all Carla. I would be willing to bet that the negative feedback on Carla is because the guy who was there was a little jealous that Carla wasn't throwing any attention his way. I don't have near the time that guy had to leave a novel but if I did it would be full of praise for Carla!
boo bar. no wait. roo bar..
well first of all we must say that we are stupid because we keep going back after a few bad experiences here. so yes, shame on us. we have had many great experiences here but only with two bartenders, Logan and John. they are very attentive, friendly and extremely professional. they are organized and have great time management skills. truly EXCELLENT bartenders. they get FIVE STARS every time we are there.
now for the bad. unfortunately i have to give the following bartenders one star since there is no option to give ZERO stars. the bartenders are Brandon and an african american female whose name i don't know and truly could care less about because i'm not even sure if she bartends since she just stands around and does nothing all of the time. we have been in three or four times when this duo has been working. our mistake for punishing ourselves more than once. luckily we only had to wait about 15 minutes the last time to even be acknowledged which is actually better than other times. can you remember our drink order ? nope. had to ask us again. maybe if they were sober and not throwing coasters at patrons and each other and focused they would be able to do their jobs. Brandon could barely speak i would imagine due to intoxication. our food order was taken and the food was brought to the end of the bar, it was sat down and left to rot. finally when they stopped playing grab ass they ate our food right in front of us. hmmm usually when food comes out of the kitchen it is meant for the people that ordered it. all this while, the african american female made two malibu and pineapples and wandered aimlessly around the restaurant and bar. i will give Brandon credit because he was doing EVERYTHING while she was sitting there with a DUH look on her face. we finished our drinks and slid them to the edge of the bar. Brandon asked if we wanted another round and we said that we just wanted our food that they were eating to be taken off of our bill and we would take our tab for the drinks. so anyway, our food was 'comped' and our drinks were bought for us and i guess the problem was solved. oh yeah and did i mention that there was only 8 people in the bar ? how can 2 bartenders possibly accomplish nothing, remember nothing and on the females part, DO NOTHING when there is next to nothing to do ? with 1 bartender per 4 patrons, the service should be exceptional in my opinion but maybe i have higher service standards. i personally bartend and have been in the service industry for 14 years. i work high volume bars and on average ring $2000 +/- and on extremely busy days ring $4000 in a six hour shift. between the 2 of them they may have rang $100 in the hour we were there. my coworkers and i are happy to 'throw away' our money at bars for even 'sub-par' service. when you consider we have been into the roo bar with 20 of us, that could make the bartender on duty A LOT of money. actually Logan was working that night and i know he made a KILLING. but he deserved it because he actually knows what he's doing and was willing to WORK for that money.
and for the best part, i actually know the owner Knute. really Knute ? did you hire these people ? for what reason ? they (she for sure) can't do the job that is required of them. no wonder there was only 8 people in the bar on a saturday night.
i have heard such great things about the OLD roo bar and like i said Logan and John are a great asset to this business. sorry to say though i will never be back. too bad because it is on the way home from work and my coworkers have all been there and have said the same thing. they say if you have a good experience then you tell one person and if you have a bad experience you tell a hundred people. hopefully by posting here and other websites i can tell tens of thousands of people and put this place out of business. sorry Knute.
Hurry In to the RooBar!. Don't miss this great little spot in Cherry Creek!! What a shame that they are tearing down the building in just over a month! You should go here before it's too late!! Open every night. Great food and music. (There is a juke box as well as live music some nights!) Always good people and martini's.... Trivia Face-Off on Tuesday nights. STOP BY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
Hidden in Cherry Creek. I'm fairly new to Denver and this is my favorite place I found. (It was hard to find though! - downstairs, no signs). Never any crowds, so good place to hang out. Food is really excellent - better than "normal" bar food. I've had the pizza and I think all of the appitzers (not at one time!) and they were all delicious! I would definately recommend this place!
Excellent martinis and high-quality beers are on tap in this interesting, enjoy-yourself setting..
Eclectic decor includes a well-lit pool hall with a stainless-steel floor, booths reminiscent of a 1950s diner and comfy, Victorian-era antique seating areas. A martini list with 15 options makes for a good excuse for return visits. The Bob Marley's rich coffee flavor, care of Tia Maria and Smirnoff Black, is a fine after-dinner selection. The house pizzas are tasty, as are the build-your-own calzones.
Down under!. Excellent place - I still like to hang there - even after college. Varied crowd, cool people. Good food. Gets busy late, so you may have to wait for a drink. Nice staff though.
