Charming restaurant with great food, impeccable service. We have been to tthe Cherry Tomato several times and it never disappoints.
THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD I'VE EVER HAD
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wait staff were falling all over themselves to take care of our every whim.
Can't put into words how good it was.............................
Still a great value.
I read some of these poor reviews believe, and I can hardly believe my eyes. Yeah, I know some places have trouble from time to time, but I have never had any trouble or a bad meal at this restaurant. To begin with, how can you go wrong with an Eggplant Parmigiana, or a Veggie Lasagna that are only $9.99 each? They also have decent wines at decent prices, and a pretty good Caesar for $5.00. I understand the place is small, and doesn't open until 5:00 p.m., but what do people expect? A good, small restaurant is going to be busy, and they can only do so much to make patrons happy.
My suggestions to make this an enjoyable outing for you and yours are: 1) Don't be afraid to take a seat at the bar. I've gone in when people were waiting outside for a table, but there were plenty of seats at the bar. They'll serve anything off the menu up at the bar, and the bartender is happy not only for the company, but for the tips as well. 2) I know restaurants like big parties, but, if you want a big party, have this one cater to your house. It's just too small for big parties, even though they try to accommodate them. Keep your party small, say to around two or three, OK? 3) Don't be afraid of the Veggie Lasagna. It is good.
This is one of the few places in town I know of where you can get an excellent meal all the way around, (salad, bread, wine, and entree), at a very reasonable price, and enjoy it all in a historic Denver building - it used to be the Park Hill Drug Store. Very cool.
No gluten free menu. No ( I repeat, NO) gluten free menu. Disappointing since most other Italian restaurants in Denver offer one for those with gluten intolerance. Or at least they offer wheat free pasta. Love the atmosphere, good wine selection but probably won't go back due to the limited menu options.
Very Poor Service.
I live in Park Hill and have driven by this place many times and always wanted to try it. I went at 5pm on Friday and arrived to an empty restaurant but was told my party of 2 couldn't sit until we were both present.
Eventually we were seated and our waiter had zero personality and rushed us through our meal. After we paid we had just signed our receipt and were sitting at the table for less than 5min when our waiter came back and said we had to leave because there was a wait. Rude! If thats how they treat their paying customers I will never go back!
Quaint Neighborhood Restaurant.
Cherry Tomato is one of my favorite places in Denver. It is such a cute little neighborhood restaurant with lots of charm and reasonable prices.
The Carbonara is AMAZING. My boyfriend and I crave it and usually get it every time. The Seafood Ravioli is also very good.
I have brought family here a few times and everyone is always pleased with their meal and the atmosphere.
Great neighborhood place. hard to go wrong with this place. always consistent and good
For get about it.... Went on a recommendation that it was decent Italian food for a reasonable price - Well that could not have been any further from the truth. Being a new transplant from the east coast I should know better; but really it does not take much to make decent Italian food, seriously... Just do not bother with Cherry Tomato, it is not American Italian or any region of Italian cooking. Just stay home and chop some tomato's with garlic add olive oil and put it over some pasta and you have already surpassed Cherry Tomato.
Can't say much good..... Veggie lasagna was mostly bread crumbs and salt. Could hardly find the veggies. Salt was dominant flavor. Staff clueless; service poor to arrogant. Can't get rid of that salt taste!!!!
consistent quality. We have been going here for years. We have always had excellent food. One of the most consistent restaurants I have ever eaten at. The house favorites like lasagna, pasta felice & the veal dishes never fail to please. Its a cute place with a friendly atmosphere. I do not get these comments about too much garlic. These folks must like really plain food. I think the prices are very fair. $11 for a pasta dish $20 for veal or fish. And now they have delivery, its great after a long day at work when you just want to sit in front of the TV and have a gourmet meal brought to you. The food comes hot and tastes the same as in the restaurant.
