A+. Great thai food, the best I've had in Denver. I don't know what the other reviewers (haters) are talking about. Great waitstaff.
a waste of $25!.
The food was awful. I ordered the green curry with tofu and I couldn't even finish mine it was so bad.
I ordered the kid's noodle plate for my 5 yo son and he was served plain rice noodles with a side of chicken satay. He loved the satay, but didn't touch the rest.
It was a waste of $25 (yes - for one adult plate and one kids plate!)
Make the trek to Khow Thai on Broadway in Boulder!
It's much, much better (and less expensive).
Lousy. Expensive, small portions, and the food is just okay. Want brown rice? They charge EXTRA for that! What a total ripoff! Avoid it!!!
Subpar Thai. I am an avid Thai food enthusiast. I remember first going to Swing Thai when it was a takeout type of place with decent prices-no linen napkins or waiters. How times have changed. The portions of small and the food, well....YUCK. The Pad Thai tastes like the traditional Tamarind and Fish sauce have been traded in for a ketchup (it does happen--guess to be friendly to the western palate) sweet red sauce. EEEK! Swing Thai!! Avoid it....not worth the almost $10 for Pad Thai
Impolite staff.
We went to Swing Thai today. We could not even get to the food part...so I do not know what to say about the food. I have read mixed reviews though. Here is what happened and never in my life have I or the people with me experienced this...We sat down and went through the menu. When the server came to take our order I looked at the menu and was trying to read the half a dozen words long dish names. I ordered one (i think some eggplant dish) and he asked - what kind of meat. I said No meat and looked at the menu and said just tofu. At the same time he started naming the meats (I am not sure why). I looked down again at the menu to see if this dish came without or with meat. (it came by default with Tofu and veggies the meat/shrimp were add-ons) . Right then the server said to me and i quote " Hey! Look at me when I am talking !!"
We were speechless. The gentleman in our group said where is your manager - and told him what had happened. The "manager" just smiled and laughed and nodded his head !!!!!! Obviously we all walked out.
Needless to say we are NEVER going there.
Snail Service. The service here is so slow, I have been here twice and both times slow as a snail. The food is okay but is very over priced for the small not so great portions.
Good food, customer considerate. We've been long time satisfied customers of Swing Thai. On New Years Day we stopped for dinner and I walked off leaving my brand new, expensive glasses (I typically use $11.99 Target glasses but had recently relented and sprung for a decent pair.) We live 50 miles away and I did not discover the glasses were missing until we got home. I called immediately and was told the waitress had found the glasses and they would keep them for me. I explained that the glasses were new, had very expensive lenses, and were easily scratched. The woman I talked to said they would take special care of them. The following friday we stopped for dinner and to pick up the glasses, but they were missing. To make a long story short, I asked if they'd be willing to split the co-pay for a new pair (since I did make the mistake of leaving them) but they sent me a check of the total co-pay amount. I'll figure out some way to repay their generosity but in the meantime my vote: Good food, attentive service, and customer considerate. doug
Delicious and Inexpensive.
Positives: Consistent, Inexpensive, Casual Dining, Delivers, GREAT Tofu Pad Thai
Negatives: Long wait for delivery
This ends my search in Denver for great Thai food, and this isn't it.. This restaurant confirmed my theory that Denver does not have one sigle great Thai restaurant. If they did it might be just ONE, but I haven't found it yet. I am pretty bitter now because my Thai food experiences here have been sub-par. Obviously Thai people own these restaurants so why can't they make authentic Thai food? We need more Thai people opening up really good restaurants-to put these out of business. YUCK!
Incredible Food. For a fast food approach to Thai food, hats off to Swing Thai. The food is absolutely incredible! When you are in a hurry, it is great to stop in and get your food in a "Carl's Jr." fashion. The food is so good for the reasonable price that the service sacrifice is worth it. I look forward to eatting at Swing Thai again VERY SOON!
