This longtime local favorite offers authentic food in a low-key environment..
In Short
Uptown and Five Points residents gather at tables in the main dining area, which is preferred to other areas because it is clean and quiet. Dishes here are lean on cornstarch and filler and generally made with fresh ingredients. The menu offers many dishes not found elsewhere in town, like heads-on shrimp with a Shanghai pork chop. Try the specialty peach chicken or the kung pao Szechwan--a spicy shrimp, scallop and chicken dish.
Wonderful. The Sunny China Cafe is one of those great finds in Denver, a little out of the way but while I was living in the city I was there at least twice a week. The food is wonderful, authentic and plentiful; the staff are jolly, quick, and very helpful. I don't know how they can give you so much food for so little price. Whenever I visit the city I make it a point to have some meals here.
authentic, big city taste.. If your from a big coastal city than your probably inundated with great authentic foods because of the great diversity of ethnic people, but if your in Colorado your choices are very limited, so when my girlfriend at the time from Taiwan found this restaurant I was extremely HAPPY! This place is the only place in CO for authentic food.
