I just finished breakfast at Petes Cafe, I felt so strongly about how horrid the food was that I am taking the time to write my first restaurant review. The breakfast burrito was something a 2 year old could have concocted and the eggs benedict tasted like they had just came out of a can food item that their employees had just dusted off before serving.

However, the service was good and friendly, but you dont go out for lunch for the service you go for the food.

University Park Cafe - Two Thumbs Down!. I would have rated this zero stars, but it made me at least give it a one star, which is really overstating it. Long lines, VERY RUDE workers, place full of fat, lazy cops doing nothing, which is so odd for a city employee (insert sarcasm here). I've been asked to leave our table after 25 minutes while our fat little cop buddies sit there for hours!! Again, weird. Save your time, go to Denny's, which is sadly a better place to eat.

Follow the rules!. Being regulars at Pete's we have grown used to the frequent unfriendly manner of the management. we tolerated it for years for the good food, but the last time we went was the last straw. After eating at a place across the street and stopping by for some pie afterwards, we had some leftovers and the hostess insisted that there was no outside food or beverages, I tried to explain that our car was parked far away and we did not bring it to eat. She was very rude and to be honest we are sick of their constant attitude problems, they are in the service business and at least some courtesy should exist, and it never has. We have decided to never go to Pete's again, they treat customers like it is a privilege to be there. When it should be the exact opposite, they are lucky to have customers with they way they treat them. I want to exclude the wait staff though, they have always been kind, its just the management and hostess.

Yummy food, irritating 'policy' (if indeed it really was one!). I've eaten at Pete's University Park Cafe a bunch of times and it's been good, cheap food served up fast, occasionally with attitude (which in a diner of that sort kind of comes with the territory and isn't entirely unwelcome). However today, I went with a friend for lunch and while I again enjoyed the food (the fries are awesome!), the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I completely understand wanting to move tables quickly when there's a big line out the door (as there often is for breakfast/brunch on the weekends), but REALLY, do you want to kick your patrons out when there's NO wait and there are vacant tables available for the next few people that come in (and claim your manager is 'yelling' at you to turn the table as the excuse to essentially kick out your patrons)? Apparently you do if you're a waitress...it must be that you want to get another tip and your section is only so big. (and no, we weren't in there that long - less than an hour). Well, guess what lady? There's a lot of other places to get breakfast and lunch. And I would bet that not all that many of your college student patrons tip 20% +. Shame on you, Pete's and shame on your waitstaff.
