Editorial Review for Blinky's Antiques and Collectibles – by Joy Glassman
In Short
The charm of this exceptional shop, named after the longtime local TV clown himself, comes from its lack of negative space. Every nook is filled with amusing collectibles. Walls are covered with an eclectic mix of ukuleles, African masks, boxing gloves, '50s soda shop signs and Depression-era glassware. When shopping at this store, take some extra time to chat with Blinky to hear a classic story from his former clown days.

Relax folks, Blinky is a Kind and gentle man. So maybe his uses the occasional 4 letter word. Who Dosen't? I have purchased Thousands of Dollars in Antiques from the man so I feel I know him well. Before you gripe about his attitude, let me remind you this: he is in his late 80's, his show was pulled out from under him, his wife left him and took his money with her. After working Years and Years, he now must run his store to be able to afford to live. Think..when you are well past retirement, do you want to HAVE to work to be able to afford the little things in life...like food, electric, etc...??? I Love Blinky! I think I will go there and buy something right now.....
Pros: Great Antiques! Great Man!
Cons: NONE

Okay crazed fan if you were in adoration of Blinky I don't think this is a place to go worship a clown. Rather it is an amazing nook to stumble upon a sanctuary that Blinky has preserved himself. I walked in and was transported to another, well time, and place. Despite another review I read here, Blinky had a big smile in spite of an oxygen tank, answered all my questions and offered extra help and ancedotes. Like anyone I am sure he has good and bad days. I fell in love with the space. He is an obvious music lover (various jazz and 30's era musicians were being played when I was in) and historian and really the best way to see the shop is to stand in one place (it is tiny) and take it all in. If you want a space that is in a linear order and everything has its place this may not be for you. If you want to discover living history go to Blinky's. As a plus packrat antiques is on this block also....
Pros: character, living history, great place to discover
Cons: not for those who like shopping to be orderly
